Just a quick question for those people who have received their copr in the post!
Was it posted through your letter box or did you have to sign for it?

Im waiting for mine and I'm just wondering how it will be delivered. They asked for some extra documents to issue the visa such as a copy of my passport, i sent those off but haven't heard anything back so im guessing the copr will just be sent to me without any more correspondence?
Thankyou :D

You do have to sign for it.

That was quick... I hope they get on and approve mine just as quick :D

I think I read that you need to sign for it.

It definitely has to be signed for. It's a government document.

So if you're not home they send it back?

I assume they would leave a notice where you can pick it up?

Exactly right. They'll leave a delivery notice, then you go to the post office to collect and sign for it.

Thanks guys! i cant believe how quick its been processed, i thought it would take the whole 11 months and didnt expect to move until next summer!

I was just to about to ask the same question! I'd presume the postman would leave a note saying to pick it up at the royal mail warehouse?

That's even better! I have no idea when it will be delivered so im glad they'll leave a note to pick it up from the post office

So, I hope that whoever receives requests via email at the LVO and updates adrdesses aren't involved in working on cases...

Update of address in June: They put the street number as apartment number and vice versa.

Update of address last week: They left out the apartment number, had the wrong zip code, put the city as Lindigo instead of Lidingö.

Not a sharp cookie, I hope they dont issue a CoPR in the next few days..

When I updated my address to a Canadian one I also had a typo in the city name. At least they corrected it when I had to change the house number (my fault though). Now the name of the city is correct, even though it is written with a small letter. I guess they really rush there.

When they sent a request for my CSQ, I never received it and since I dont have junk folder and I confirmed with the provider that they dont have filters, I have a feeling the LVO made a typo with my email. Now Im all paranoid theyve been sending all sorts of requests and they still make typo with my new email! Thats why Im ordering GCMS notes every month...

Hi All

Currently applying via the Spousal Sponsorship route.
This is where we're at;
Application Received - May 6 2014
Sponsor Approval - July 8 2014
VO - London
Based near Salisbury, UK

We received email confirmation of the sponsor approval and they informed us they were sending our case to Ottawa. We emailed back to confirm as we expected it to be sent to London (as we're UK based), they emailed back to say they'd retrieved the file and sent it to London instead. Given what I've been reading about the super quick times at Ottawa at the moment I fear we should have kept our mouths shut!!

Is there anyway I can check that it reached London safely as the online checking tool was showing Application Received because it had got to Ottawa okay?

Also, a couple of newbie questions;
1 - Where can I find out what all the abbreviations people are using mean?
2 - More than happy to be added to the spreadsheet, do I do it myself or is there an admin for that sort of thing?

This place is a great resource, thanks all.

I've added you to the spreadsheet! Becki567, ghunter, and I are the editors on the spreadsheet, so whenever you have an update just post in here and one of us will pick it up to add you. :) (It used to be open for everyone to add themselves, but we had too many issues with trolls deleting the whole spreadsheet or writing "boobs" in place of usernames. Classy.)

Abbreviations - read this! http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Canadian_Abbreviations

Spreadsheet update please - extra medical requested on September 11th 2014

Thank you

I have received a letter in the UK regarding registering to vote for the electoral register. I'm now a permanent resident living in BC. Do you guys know what forms I might need to fill out to register / vote from abroad?

Awesome - Many Thanks! 'Boobs' must have got rather repetitive!

Will read and memorize!
