Finally got SA huge delay from may. Stuff got sent to London for my husband. How long does it take for them to send stuff to the London VO?

Congrats on your SA finally!!

It takes about 5-7 days, they should send it right after your SA and it takes about a week for London to recieve it

According to my notes it took mine 5 days to arrive

It should tell you on your sponsorship approval where your application is being sent

They will inform you with a letter to your present address, and let you know were your papers have been sent......

I've never heard of it happening like that

The address of the visa office where your application has been sent will be in the sponsorship approval

For a little while we regretted doing our medical early and sending it in right away because that would give us less time to get to Canada and we weren't ssure if were would be ready to go before they expired, but now i'm glad we did send them with the application for the reason that it will be smoother that way. But if you think you need more time to get to Canada then sending them when requested would probably be better.

If it's on the checklist, it should be provided. Technically waiting to send the medical until it's requested means you've sent an incomplete application. If everyone starts doing this then they'll probably start returning applications. I personally do not agree with this advice, and to anyone reading, provide your medical with your application, as per the instructions and the checlist.

I would like also to be added to the spreadsheet. My storyline so far.

Visa Office : London
Application received : March 4th (Mississauga)
Family Class : CL
Sponsor Approval(AOR) : May 2nd
meds done : 4th June

On the CIC, the status now shows application received for resident permit, does this mean that the application is being reviewed or waiting to be reviewed. I was wondering is it worth paying the $5 to check the status Wink thanks keego_1

Welcome! I've added you to the spreadsheet. CIC only changes ECAS to show "In Process" on maybe 1/3 of applications, so I wouldn't put too much stake in it. You are currently well within the average timescales... right now applications are taking 6-7 months to be approved. You applied in March, so yu wouldn't be hearing until later this month or next... if you get past the end of November then you can start chasing it. In the meantime just sit tight. Also, where are you located? We are tracking locations as well for 2014 applications. Nearest major city is fine!

I am new here. I am currently waiting for my husband's visa to be approved. London office started 'processing' his file since July 5th, 2014 and I see some of you are saying that it should take only few weeks or so after that. For us it's been over 2 months and we are currently on our 9 months of processing time. We are worried and confused to what's going on. I am pregnant and baby is due in within the next few weeks. And on the inquiry page it says that they won't reply until the processing time has passed. :S What do I do?

If you want to be added to the spreadsheet then also post the day you got sponsor approval and I'll add you in. In Process usually is sorted within a few weeks, but it's not uncommon to take much longer than that. 9 months of processing time is long, but still within London's advertised processing time of 11 months. However, it might be worth sending a case-specific email (available on CIC's website) just to try to nudge things along.

Finally! Glad you've finally received it. Stuff usually arrives in London within a few days, but you won't hear anything on it arriving there, so all you can do is sit there for now. Since your SA took longer because of the incomplete application, your processing time I'd expect will be over the average... probably early next year at a guess. Your timeline is more likely to be similar to those who applied in July, who are just getting SA through now as well. Good luck!

What office did you specify on your application? In addition, your sponsor approval letter or email will tell you which office your application was sent to for processing.

You're right on about that point right now, but there are quite a few applicants from Nov-Dec-Jan who still haven't heard, and only four who applied after you who have heard. So all I can suggest is to just sit tight and keep waiting. You will need to inform CIC of your child's birth (Congrats!) anyway; either your lawyer can do this on your behalf, or you can send CIC a case-specific enquiry via their website to let them know (The instructions are in the guide). Hopefully you hear soon!

Thanks for your comments. Pity things have slowed dow. Really needed it to be quicker! Ha! Have to support my family so I don't want to be not working. I'm located in Toronto by the way. Cheers!

So they generated them right away then it took a month for them to send them to me.

You applied in March, it's only been 5 months, and there are still people from November 2012 waiting. Chill. London is reporting 11 months for 80% of applications. You probably are still 3 months away from being finalized.

Yep - thanks. I'm fairly chilled on timelines. My frustration is more with the poor implementation of ECAS and inefficiency of the whole process! A large part of my job is to fix things like this, so it drives me nuts

I provided the details more for the benefit of those on similar timelines as me, to know things are actually happening.

Thank you for your reply. Yea that's why we are very worried at this point. We are feeling also it's very long. One of my friend got the visa withing 4 weeks after "in process" status change. I will see if CIC reply to me. sigh..

I have been minimally active in this forum, but I guess for the fairness of others it's time for me to also get my details added:

Application Received in Mississauga: February 12th, 2014
Sponsorship Approval: March 12th, 2014

Our application is common-law sponsorship, and when I checked my status on ECAS on Monday (Sept. 8) it had changed to "in process", with the comment that they started processing my application on September 2nd, 2014.

And I'm currently in Vancouver,BC.
