So my medical expires on July 23rd or 25th.

Any idea if I can find out if they will extend it? I really don't fancy having to fork out for a new medical and go through the pretty much pointless examination they do again. Plus I will be going back to the UK for a trip when it expires.
Just today saw someone on BE that had their medical extended for 7 additional months. Wouldn't hurt to drop them a line... They told them in their request for an update on their file that was received last November.

Have any of them been rejected without an interview? That's my constant worry... :-[
I believe only one had an interview. But all 3 has poor, insufficient evidence of living common law. I remember they were requested to provide more proof and when unable to the applications were rejected due to that

I am guessing the fact that he overstayed, was asked to leave and then you married might be a big red flag to them. If they are requesting an interview they have some doubts about the application. When is the interview? If you have more than 30 days order your GCMS notes and that will tell you exactly what their issues with the application are.
Hi Becki

I did not think we will have an issue because although we was asked to leave and got married couple of months later, we have been married since 1991 and have 2 children. Thats more than 20years of married and we are still together. We sent them pictures from the day we got married until now again more than 20years of marriage. How can they doubt of relationship?

The interview in London is booked on 9th July. They need his new and old passports, two picture and any other original documents like what I dont know.

How do I order my GMS notes and how long do they normally take?

Thanks Becki

You have 1 year from when you did you medicals. If you did your medicals on October 13th 2013 for example and you get the visa on say September 10th, you will have till October 12th 2014.
Not entirely correct. The VO determines a date which in the GCMS notes is referred to as the validity date. In my case that was several weeks after the anniversary date of the medical. The landing had to be completed by that later date. I have no idea why that later date is chosen but I understand from previous posts on this forum that a later date than the anniversary date is quite often (possibly even universally) given.

+1 , Graihn is absolutely correct. I have not seen much extending. Someone just recently was only given 3 weeks to land but it wasn't an issue for them. I can't seem to remember the name...
Wrote to my lawyers about such a short timeline, they say most of the time they give you four to six months. Three weeks is virtually unheard of for a landing date, not impossible but highly unlikely. They do confirm that an extension is very very very very hard to get, if you're able to get one at all.

LOL 4-6 months. I guess that would be true on application that were processed within 6 months. But that would mean that virtually every application that takes longer than 6 months gets an automatic Medical extension. That's not the case.

Medical extensions are given but on what percentage and basis I do not know.

That's from their experiences with the London office, not the total numbers of the office if that makes a difference.

I suggest you do some reading on this thread. While medical extensions have been given, they are not the norm. From your previous post you said your husband wants to land the first week of December. Judging on your application you should problem have a decision made in the next 1-2 months. I would be very surprised if they extended the medical until December.

I did do a fair bit of reading, 20-30 pages that's why I felt this was the right board to ask things. You guys have been totally kick butt so far :) I also wanted to update you on our plans. Since we've been chatting,I've emailed our lawyers then we decided the following: my husband and I plan to move me back to Canada Sept 9th, the apartment late-August and he lands in Oct. Which works with the 1-2 months :)

Well October wouldn't be a problem. I just thought you would have a problem with a December landing if your decision made came through in the next bit

We received our AOR June 5th, and as of today 19-June, I still haven't received SA. I had called CIC and they mentioned that it's in process and that there aren't any problems. Anybody with any insight as to why the huge delay? I've noticed for pretty much everyone that when they get their AOR, they receive SA the day of or a few days after. It has now been 2 weeks! They are already working on applications past april 11th, which is the date they received our application in Mississauga.

I have asked this question in the April outland thread, but wanted to ask here for more insight. People are saying don't worry, but this situation seems strange. It's already been 70 days, and no SA yet. Yet, CIC has not told us anything
