The spreadsheet is an awesome resource- I was planning to make an inland application as it would allow me to maintain a work permit, but looking at the results from 2013 it looks like I could potentially become a resident through an outland application to London before I would even have obtained a work permit taking the inland route.

I am just wondering though, are applications generally taking longer this year, or has the spreadsheet simply not been updated recently?
My perception is that it's slightly slower than last year. Not by a huge amount, but even SA has increased by a month.

I highly recommend an outland application. We originally thought we would apply inland for the same reason. We received our COPR 4 months before we would have got the work permit.

Hi all

Just wondering if everyone pays their permanent residence fee in advance when they submit their application as CIC recommends (so as not to delay) or has anyone waited for it to be requested? Do you think it adds much time on? I'm wondering if CIC would just prefer all their cash up front! Or if it does really make a difference....

Thanks as always for your help!

I paid ours in advance. I am not sure how much time it may or may not add, but I figure if they have to send a request that is using the time they could be doing something else to my file

I know nothing is certain but Becki, I have a question. So my husband won't hear about his PR until may 2015? Since the London VO takes 11 months + processing times? :( his medical expires January 24th 2015, he got it done 24th 2014. It would be nice if he arrived to celebrate my birthday on January 25th 2015.

I really don't have a crystal ball, and I don't know anything about your file. But if you put together a complete application, and you both are eligible with no glaring red flags then I would guess you will be done sooner than May 2015. SA approvals have really backed up the past couple months, so that may cause a delay. But those may only be temporary. Most applications are done significantly sooner than 11 months.

When I applied it was listed as 9 months + SA approval. So about 10 months, and I got approved in 7 months.

You should spend some time looking at the spreadsheet, it will give you the best indication.

Hi guys ,just wondering when you have to send new documents and in the letter it says before 45 days,do they wait till the end of the 45 days to start on your paper work again.I had to send it to a different address.. It was the intake center in Mississauga.

So..... I'd kind of like my permanent residency now, thank you very much.

:D It takes some time to adjust to some things but its a lovely place to live. Good luck.

Canada? I'm already there. Been living there for over two years. Just frustrating having to give up work, daytime TV loses its novelty quickly. And I've finished everything on Netflix.

Brit_Immigrant - Any word? Was cleaning up spreadsheet and noticed you are 8 days away from being the slowest application of the year >:(

Probably not the record you were hoping to get. Have you got an MP involved? I really would like to turn ya green.
