Can someone add us to the spreadsheet please. See above. We arrive in Canada March 21st. Hoping we'll have our approval by then.

The approval, based on the current processing times, is more likely to arrive June/July

Hi everyone,
My husband is a UK citizen and our application is being processed in London. All it says when I log onto cic website to check our application status is that it was recieved May 21, 2013 in London. Back in December 2013 they requested pay stubs from myself the Canadian Citizen. Nothing has changed for soon to be 10 months on March 21 . Not sure what's going on getting extremely stressed and worried that our application has been pushed aside or lost as there are others who have applied after us who have gotten thier permanent residency. Just getting a bit frustrated with it all.. We emailed them a month back and the reply was it's awaiting the review of an immigration officer. Still nothing. Any information or thoughts would be great. Can we get a hold of the London visa office if we still don't have permanent residency by March 21?
Any help is much appreciated

I see you on the spreadsheet for May 30 application received. Should it be 21? Just want to confirm before moving it all around.

I understand your frustration. I only applied in September and seeing people that applied in December approved already is frustrating. Do you have any red flags? Are you from visa exempt? Have you ordered your gcms notes? I would be contacting an MP on 10 month mark for them to inquire on your behalf.

Hello,

Application received: 28th Feb 2014

Yes May 21st is the correct date when they recieved our application. No we have no red flags. My husband is a UK citizen and I am Canadian. What does visa exempt mean ? I'm not totally sure. I am also not sure what the GCMS notes are and how to do that. I will definitely be contacting an MP when March 21 comes around to see what the hold up is. Thanks for your reply.

I have checked the spreadsheet and realised that the details on there are not correct could someone amend with the correct details

Visa-exempt means that your husband doesn't need a visa to go to Canada, you could decide to move to Canada before his PR is approved if it made it easier for you to move now. It's the case for most europeans, and most people going through London. These files are usually processed faster than the "non-visa-exempt", hence the question and the category in the spreadsheet. THe GCMS notes are what you can order (online) to see what the VO has worked on already. It takes 30 days to get them, and most of it is not really readable, but sometimes there is something interesting. You could print the request for your husband (he should be making the request to see his file as there will be more notes than in your own - only sponsorship part), then have him sign it as well as the "third party authorisation" (as only PRs and Canadian I think can have access to it but I can't remember how it works - i'm sure somebody else will comment).

Hopefully you'll have an answer before the notes arrive. Good luck,
Sweden

Ok thanks so much for this info. Yes we are visa exempt. He does not need a visa to come to canada. I will definitely look into ordering the notes. Thanks again

You can discover everything you need to know about GCMS notes online applications by clicking this link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp Since your husband is not Canadian, nor a PR nor yet in Canada the application has to be made by you as a Canadian citizen, attaching to the application form a copy of your Canadian passport, the form of authorisation by him, and enclosing the $5 payment. You do not need to be in Canada to apply. See my post in this thread dated 20 February.
