I had mine done at the local photo/camera shop. There was no problem once I provided them with a copy of the photo specification sheet from the application pack. They took the picture, produced a contact sheet with 10 on it and cut out 8 of the correct specification... Total time taken was about 20 mins.

My partner had his done at Jessops. He took along the photo specs sheet, they were able to do it no problem.

Can anyone advise...

I am a UK citizen, I submitted my Outland PR application last november to London.
I am in Canada as a visitor and have been on and off for 2 years, leaving every 6 months as per the requirement or extending online.
Once the application is submitted does the applicant have implied status to remain pending a decision, or must i apply to extend my visitor status?
My concern is that my common law Canadian partner and i are leaving for a vacation in Mexico in March which is 6 months since i last entered Canada, i know outland gives me freedom to come and go but I am worried about coming back into the country having been here so much with an application pending in London.

As Zardoz explained - you don't have any implied status etc. You should always keep your status in Canada, by either asking for an extension if you're staying in Canada (apply for an extension before your current visa expires) OR by leaving the country before your 6 months are up.
now - going on vacation and coming back is always a risk, but it should be a fairly low one. Quite a few applicants have gone back and forth to Canada, and CBSA might be able to see that you have a PR application ongoing, but it's not necessarily a bad thing - they can ask about proof, and you could carry your sponsorship approval letter. AS a visa-exempt, with an on-going PR application, you're not a very "high risk", especially if you have been going in and out of Canada for the last 2 years.
So - nothing can be guaranteed, but the risks of being denied re-entry are fairly low.
Good luck,
Sweden

Thank you ! That is the mistake we are making we thought that they had to be taken in that size, didn't realize we could have them to cut to that size doh

Has anyone sent a case specific enquiry lately asking for an update? If so how long did it take for you to receive a reply? Thank you :-*

I sent them an email yesterday to ask if they have received my application and what is the status. To my surprise, they answered today!
And said that my app awaiting for a case officer.

By the way, is background check done by case officer or it is done by any other department and afterwards is assigned to a case officer?

I did a few weeks ago and they sent me the same response that my app is awaiting review by a case officer.. My email was for them to update my address. They have not updated the address.

Should I send them another email?

Well, this is the correct page to send message to them. I use the same. You'd better to resend your address and ask them to confirm that they will change it.
