Where did it say your meds were received? It takes about 30 days once the application is received in Mississauga to get your SA

They received my app Jan 14th, AOR Feb 14th. It doesn't specify where the meds were received.

Hello people, I am not a regular poster here but I wanted to share my application timeline with you. I am a British Citizen, my sponsor and common-law partner is a Canadian Citizen (I'm sure we are the textbook 'simple' case).

November 15th 2014 : Application received at CPC-M.

January 2nd 2014: Sponsorship approval

February 5th 2014: Request for Right of Perm Residence Fee from London office.

February 11th 2014: Receipt of payment of RPRF received at CPC-M. (I also sent a copy to the London office a few days later, not sure that was necessary)

February 22nd 2014: I (rather unexpectedly) received my confirmation of perm residency in the post!!

Wishing you all a speedy process :)

Hello everybody,

I hope we are all well. I'm not sure this is the right place to post this, so apologies in advance. Once I become a PR, I understand I have to surrender my UK driver's licence in exchange for a BC one. But I do intend to travel back and forth between UK and Canada so am I not able to hold both my UK and Canadian driving licence?

Yes, you have to surrender your license but you can drive in the UK with your BC license, just not sure how long for. They will not let you hold both licenses!

Does this only apply to inverting ur Brit license to a BC one, or is it the same for just going through the processing of obtaining one in Canada?

I am Swedish, and I had to do a written test and driving test for my G2, and will get G2 if I take a driving test after April of this year. Just hope this doesn't mean that my Swedish license is invalid

I have no idea to be honest. I got my BC license 5 years ago. The laws may have changed for all I know. Just from experience they wouldn't let me keep both licenses. I think it depends on your home countries laws as well as Canada. I am pretty sure a UK license is only valid if you are a resident of that country regardless of citizenship. If you want to move back to the UK you will have to swap it back. I think the limit is 12 months driving with a foreign license at a time.

There must be a forum for this somewhere with better information!

I am super pist off with LVO!!! >:( They asked for an updated police clearance certificate... Is it my fault they took this long for them to process our application?... also I was asked to pay $490 CAD for Right to Permanent resident application... but I already paid this when I applied for my husband's application...Anyone experience this b4?

It sucks but there's nothing you can do about the police certificate except to send a new one as fast as possible.

For the RPRF, respond to the email request with a copy of your receipt showing that you have already paid it.

the law varies for each province. You would have to look up the province where you intend to live, and see what their rules are.
In BC, you can not hold a BC licence AND another one at the same time. Whether you move from another province, or abroad, you have to surrender your licence before you can get a BC one. For most European Countries, you can drive with your licence in BC for 6 months, then you need to get a BC licence.

But - rules are different in each province.

Has anyone sent a case specific enquiry lately asking for an update? If so how long did it take for you to receive a reply? Thank you :-*

If you didn't mark it as "URGENT", you will probably have to wait for a month... London can be very variable in responding, but my experiences of last year indicate that they do look to see if it's an urgent enquiry.. If it genuinely is, they respond reasonably fast... a few days at most.

Thanks for the reply. I didnt mark it as urgent... I guess it probably isnt urgent to them but feels like it to me. Would you suggest I resent one and mark it URGENT or would they ignore it becuase I have already sent one? Thank you X

That, I can't answer.. I only played the urgent card when it really was. 1) When they sent me a faulty COPR and 2) When they didn't resend the corrected one.

Can anyone advise…

I am a UK citizen, I submitted my Outland PR application last november to London.
I am in Canada as a visitor and have been on and off for 2 years, leaving every 6 months as per the requirement or extending online.
Once the application is submitted does the applicant have implied status to remain pending a decision, or must i apply to extend my visitor status?
My concern is that my common law Canadian partner and i are leaving for a vacation in Mexico in March which is 6 months since i last entered Canada, i know outland gives me freedom to come and go but I am worried about coming back into the country having been here so much with an application pending in London.

An "outland" application does not, and never has, provide "implied status". You will have to follow the normal immigration rules as they apply to your situation.
