Yeah I'm definitely going to do lots of things to not think about it. Michaels and I will become best friends (Crafting time).

What happens now then? Do I only hear off them if and when my sponsor is approved?

You should get an email from them with AOR (Acknowledgement of Reciept) in a couple of weeks, and then in another 2 weeks or so after that should have a DM (Decision Made) on the Sponsor. Then after that, it will be a long quiet wait...

Awesome, thank you

My application arrived in Mississauga this morning :D

And so it begins...

Added you to spreadsheet.

FYI - I cant figure out how to get the line to separate her and the person above her. If anyone knows?

And since she was the first for October I wasn't sure if there was a rhyme or reason to color choosing so I just chose one. If you want it changed I am fine with it.

Oh yes... Welcome to the insanity of checking e-cas every 30 minutes, "just in case".
Having been through this, with a few minor deviations from a straight path, my best advice is now to go and find something else to concentrate on while you wait. Go learn a new language or take up squash or something..
I set my sponsor the task of gaining her British citizenship, which meant she had to study a lot for the "Life in the UK test". It took her mind off CIC for a while.

Ohhhhhhhhhh how do you do this? I am sponsoring my husband who is a british citizen but I was under the impression that I couldn't get dual citizenship unless we resided in the UK.

You can't. We actually live in the UK and I've been here for 9.5 years (although, I believe I could have applied after three years of receiving my Indefinite Leave to Remain) Being married to a Brit gives you an in, but you have to fulfill the residency requirements.

Thanks for adding me to it :)

Received this email on Friday.. Much closer to the finishing line now I think.. After nearly 14 months..

Good afternoon,

I can confirm receipt of your police certificate. Your application has been approved. It is expected that your Confirmation of Permanent Residence form will be issued within the next 10 working days. You should therefore receive the document shortly.

Kind regards,
CDD

Congratulations! I too am awaiting my CoPR! Best of luck in finishing this process :)

Thanks David.. I hit 14 months on the 15th of this month.. It's been a long, frustrating and soul-destroying process.. I won't relax till I hold the paperwork in my hands!! Close though my friend, close.. It'll be a little bittersweet mind you.. Can't help thinking that ScottishMaple should be in this position with us!!

I know right! I have been pushing nearly a year - but I sometimes feel bad as in the grand scheme of waiting compared to other countries, it isn't that long. Still, I am so close I can see that PR card in my mailbox any day now. Let's hope Scottishmaple's is here soon!

I long for the day when I do not need to bore anyone with how long I have left! :)

Hey everyone, my COPR has arrived this morning and I will be landing Friday when I go to Seattle for the weekend!

I am absolutely thrilled and excited this is all over!

Congratulations! What a relief. I see your time line is significantly longer than those that applied at the same time. Any idea why the delay?

I have no idea why the delay. The strikes? My extensive travel? The fact they misplaced my photographs twice? The extension of the medicals? They also had the wrong sponsor down in the beginning and took a month or so to rectify.

Take your pick I guess! :)
