if you don't have anything different than what you would bring on a "normal" tourist trip, you don't have to fill out a B4 if you don't want to. Otherwise, you can group things into categories, no problem.

Thank you :)

Mine took three weeks from London to Canada... Emailed London yesterday to ask what was going on and it arrived today. :)

I totally jinxed it. Positively though.
Went to the gym and when I came home a delivery notice hang on the door, missed it with 10 mins.
Didnt know I needed to sign for it, my PGWP and study permits just came in regular mail, but I guess this is safer :)

Hopefully flag-poling on Thursday at peace arch ;)

Hi all..
Coming up on 13 months, been in process for over 7.. However, an eventful day in the JB27 household..
After zero communication from the 4th of July.. 2 emails..

The first very long and formal and generic.. The important bits being :

Updated forms which are available on our website:

• New Application for Permanent Residence IMM0008 form

Original Police Certificate from the UK

Then a second from the person I've been communicating with all along saying :

Dear Mr JB27,

The background checks for your application have now been completed.

In order to proceed towards finalising your application we require the following updated documents:

-Updated UK police certificate http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/index.asp

1 asks for an IMM0008 1 doesn't.. I've queried this..

By all accounts, sounds quite positive.. Finally, some progress..

It'll be at least 2 weeks for the police clearance and they suggest another "4 months" to work through the documents.. Who knows?? End of the year maybe??

Still.. Communication.. At least it's something..

Hey there,

It is always great to have (any) communication with CIC - So do you know why it is taking so long? Any questionable travel plans?

I wish you all the best!

:)

Hi all,

Does anyone think bugging London by email actually yields any results??

I emailed about a month ago and they said they are just waiting on routine background checks and they will notify me when they come in...however they don't know how long that will be.

Shall I just sit tight?

Thanks and good luck everyone.

I have a friend who used to work in London and now works in Mississauga. The e-mails don't go to the person working on your case, they go to admin people who just look at a computer screen and e-mail you back. Bugging them does nothing expect put your mind at rest! :)

^ I emailed them on the 20th and my application went to 'in process' 20th of Aug.

Pure coincidence it means! I thought it was because I wrote a nice email haha

Hey Dave,
No questionable travel per se, but I did live in South Africa for 19 years.. They work on 'Africa Time' over there.. Guess it would explain some of the delay.. lol..
Still new forms sent, police clearance request gets sent tomorrow and we go back t more waiting.. At least I've had some movement tho.. That's a positive..

Hello you lovely people...

I just got this email about an hour ago

"hank you for your recent e-mail.

Please be advised that your application has been approved and you will soon receive your Confirmation of Permanent Residence document in the mail.

I hope this information is of assistance.

Yours sincerely,"

It shows that its possible for people to get approval even with a Criminal Record.

Good luck to everyone else
