Hi guys. Got an email from London at last.

"Good morning,

Your COPR was issued yesterday and should be mailed within the next 5 working days. You should therefore expect to receive the document shortly.

Kind regards,
CDD"

Good news at last! 5 days to put it in the mail though! :p

And it means that there is some work being done in London too.

OMG DGT that is awesome news!

My 3rd eye is out by a few days but who cares.

REALLY REALLY pleased for you and your partner!

Be wary of "Issued"...

3 weeks for it to get put in an envelope.
2 weeks for the stamp to be added
And, if in Canada, another few weeks for Canada Post to mess around with it ;)

Canada. FK YEA

Thanks for the warm wishes guys!

My employer will hold the job for 2 weeks so I should get it! My wife also just found a new job too, with more money and more in line with her experience.

So, fate permitting I can go back to being a work-a-holic and we can get out of debt by the end of the year. Big thanks to everyone here. The place is a great help.

And to SM and AlanBJ, that's one more applicant out of the way now so they can finish your files at last!

But Scottish Maple you should be next!! I'll hope for that :)

Thanks! I would like to say I hope so with enthusiasm but I'm afraid that I have run out of any when comes to CIC. My meds expired 3 days ago and I have no idea whether I got an extension or not....lol anyway back to 'playing keep it chuck it'

Hi, can someone update the spreadsheet in my comments so future non visa exempt people can see that anything goes:

DM was actually April 19 (I checked ecas late). PPR came after DM on May 2. PP received May 8 and visa issued June 11.

Thanks!

Congratulations DGT!

London replied today to say they've updated my mailing address, which I sent a couple weeks ago. It's not much, but it gives me some hope that at least somebody is reading the emails. I hope the strike ends soon.

I got a call from the MP's office today!

She said that our application was processing quickly, and they are just doing the criminal record checks now (Hubby only has Canada and the UK so it shouldn't be too long I would imagine). She was worried that medicals run out in October, so she said if we haven't gotten contacted by the first of September she will make another inquiry and see what's going on.

Yay!

Excellent news! I hope you don't have long to go. Glad your MP has been helpful! Our MP contacted us the day after CIC did, so we had the pleasure of letting her know that we didn't need her help after all!

That's great news. You have a very similar timeline to mine as well (just a few days apart both for application received and sponsor approval), so perhaps we're in the same boat, though we've never gone to In Process.

Guys, this made me so mad/frustrated!! Remember when I said I wrote my application all in French (I thought I'll prove that I'm fluent since I'm immigrating to Quebec but I'm actually better in English so it was not easier for me in any way) anyway I just got my GCMS notes I ordered a few weeks ago and in the notes they actually mark that the initial officer reviewing my case had to sent it to someone else for a second review since he wasn't bilingual!!!??? I thought this was a must when working at the embassy :( this probably slowed things down for me and I was probably lying on that ONE French speaking officers desk for weeks waiting to be picked up!!!! Also still no news I've been "in process" for 1,5 months now :( merde!

Wow! I can't believe that. It seems to fly in the face of the Official Languages Act.

You could make a case for that being discriminatory against Quebecois and other French communities in Canada. It was my understanding that all Federal employees had to be bilingual. Sorry to hear this, and I hope it doesn't slow things down too much.
