oh no!! I think mine where glossy paper :S

Well, it's not a big deal. They just asked for new ones rather than returning the whole package (that was awful lol). It's an easy fix :)

We went to Blacks for the new ones and asked for their most matte paper after explaining the situation. It was still pretty glossy (to me at least) just not as glossy as the other ones which we got done at Costco.

but where I took mine they said they knew what photos where needed for PR applications, total rip off :( I even brought the paper with instructions!! Also, I wrote my application in french(thought it would show them I'm fluent in French since I want to settle down in Quebec) but now I'm starting to panic what if my application takes longer because they need to process it in French in London :S ??

That's what they said about my photos, too. Apparently they didn't know as much about it as they thought they did lol. Yeah, the photos are expensive. We spent around $150 just in photos altogether.

Don't worry about the French thing, plenty of Brits speak French, and if they're working on applications for Canada they're definitely going to have a bunch of French speaking people there. I would actually bet money on proficiency in French being a prerequisite to getting that job.

Sorry you're feeling so anxious about it all. I've had my share of panic attacks about the whole thing, I think we all have :) Hope this helps some.

OK soooo, we're quite fed up now .... been in process for over a month .... they requested an additional document on 7th March which I sent to them a short while after ... no acknowledgement, no response, no update. On the upside our Daughter's citizenship certificate came through this morning which was a nice surprise! Just want to see DM so badly!! Anyone else been in process for this long?

Email them. Like now! Most likely they've filed the document and then forgot about your file. I was in progress for almost 4 months, this is what happened to me.

French shouldn't be a problem... most federal agents are required to speak french, and it might go quicker - because from the Scandinavian countries + Uk + Ireland, not many people would send their application in french... so maybe they have one dedicated French speaking officer... I thought about writing mine in French as well, but then my partner doesn't speak it, so we decided to do everything in english to make it easier on whoever would read the application.
It should be fine!

Good Morning all,

I awoke to an email from CIC Medical Services Division today regarding my application informing me that they need me to send 4 passport sized photographs to complete my application. I am definitely sure I included these though.

Good sign? Or a sign of (a lot) more waiting to come?

Cheers all,

David

Probably a little more waiting, but if they're asking for an extension of your medicals, then it's good news because they only do that when they are almost ready to issue the PR... and somebody is looking at your file, so that's good news! :-)

+1 to this. All employees of the Federal Government are required to be able to speak French. It is absolutely your right to apply in French, and it will not slow down your application at all. If you got your GCSM notes and somehow, it did slow the application down then they would be in violation of laws on official bilingualism.

yeah you are probably right, tanks for calming me down everyone I'm just getting a bit anxious about the whole waiting, I just want my DM so bad that I freak out over nothing these days! Thanks again for the support!!

I am just wondering if there are any new promo codes for Canadian Affair. I know it was 'MARCH SALE' in march, but that should be over by now. Does anyone know of any new promo code? Cheers!

So I got this this morning:

Good morning,

Thank you for the information. We will be in contact upon receipt and review of your RCMP certificate. We currently have no further requirements.

Kind regards,
CDD

We will be in contact upon receipt? That doesn't sound good to me... They were supposed to have received them weeks ago... I'm very hesitant to bug them again (the more time they spend emailing me the less time they're spending on files) but I'm like, ??? It might just be poorly written.

I ordered my GCMS notes, I think I might wait on them to arrive before I email them again, but I'm not sure what to do, really.

Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks guys.

Right, so just got an email this morning asking for the Right of Permanent Resident Fee. No "In Process" or nothing on eCAS. So I've just paid it and sent the receipt via email. I do need to send in hard copies to both Mississauga and London right?

Thanks for the help.

Did you have to apply for and send the RCMP certificate yourself? If this is just an internal RCMP certificate it should be very quick - if that's the case I'd wait a couple of days and then email again. Just say something like 'I spoke to an immigration specialist who told me that RCMP certificates are usually delivered very quickly, so I am wondering if there are any issues with my file and anything I can do to help resolve them' :)
