Big day today....

DAY 300!!! Wooooooooooooooooooooo party :P 8) ;D :D :D ;D ;D 8) 8) :o :P :P :P :P :) :) ;) ;)

I never thought I'd see the day where I'd be able to join the elite applications of 'Fhaider', 'sarah2012' or 'nmford' in the '300 club' but today that day has arrived.

I'm a bit overwhelmed just now but I'd like to thank CIC and uhm yeh pretty much just CIC.

A week ago CIC told me 'Please be advised that we have requested a medical extension to your file. Please contact us again in one week and we will advise you of your new medical validity date.'

I tried to email today and their email just keeps bouncing. Anyone else had this issue?
 
Did an enquiry through the website, also got an email saying this had bounced...
 
Just a quick question to any non-visa exempt applicants or anyone who has any knowledge about such processes. Is there any time frame of how long the background check takes time on a regular basis (i.e. not in extreme cases)? I was looking at the table and it seems FK22, AfShe, Srehal, and chopsticks are all still waiting. Is any of your cases dealing with special circumstances? My case is quite straight forward but it seems to be dragging on and on for no reason. Thanks a lot for any useful information.

Sorry to hear that...I can only imagine how it feels to have been waiting all this time..I applied in sept..and I am already looking my patient. I really hope that you get Good news soon.

I send them an emailed them on monday and the responded today...keep trying,maybe it is bug or something.

The infamous 300 club... Can't believe it's been 300 days for you. I hope they get back to you soon, at least you know your medical is being extended - silver lining??
 
Hey Guys..I emailed cic to get an update of my application this is the answer that I got:Your file is currently under review with an Immigration Officer. We will be in contact as soon as there have been further developments with the processing of your file.
Has anyone got anything similar? Does this mean that they have opened my application or something? All answers are appreciated.

From what I have read on this forum, that sounds like a standard response. It seems like they have opened your file and are looking through it which is good news!

Yeh I never in my life imagined when I was doing the medicals back in March last year I'd still be waiting. I remember thinking 'I'll probably have it by Christmas at the latest' LOL.

The '300 club' for 2012 is going to be massive compared to 2011 and 2010 - don't know what is going on with CIC, they seem to have decided anyone who applied in April-May will just get screwed over and ignored...

Probably bounced because the inbox was ful...which is a scary thought in itself...I wonder how many applicants they deal with at any one time? 100s?

I already made a guess at this earlier. My guess was 50 so that they could play their daily game of 'applicant roulette' on a giant roulette wheel... :)
