Congrats - I put you "in process" on the spreadsheet :-) and since your medicals were done end of April, it means that they expect to be done a little before that date - that's why you don't need to medical extension! :-)

On a personal note : I got a job today! :-) 3 months after landing - it's nice, will finally feel a little more busy and useful! :-)

Congratulations Sweden!

Thanks all! yes - pretty excited! :-) jumping all over the place when they called me this morning (had the second interview for the position yesterday afternoon), and starting on Thursday! can't wait - I'm not used to not working, and I'm sure most people here can relate - being home and having nothing to do is just plain boring - and I was going a little crazy the last few weeks! I mean, cooking/baking/taking care of the house is OK for one week, but not much longer than that! :-)
im so happy for you!!! I'm going nuts myself not being able to work and I'm actually thinking about going back to Sweden to keep busy wile I wait but it's such a dilemma cuz I would miss my partner so mych :( anyways I'm happy for you!!

Hi All,

Just allowed myself my once daily ECAS check and discovered that we've got decision made! I've been getting increasingly stressed out as London seemed to have slowed this month so I think it's also pretty good news for my heart!

For those around me in the spreadsheet I know how incredibly frustrating it is seeing people get DM who are after you and being pleased but becoming increasingly worried about your own app at the same time. All I can offer is that we've actually had no contact initiated from CIC throughout this process (we called about Stage 1 after waiting for 70 days or so), and my application never showed 'In Process' so it can literally happen completely out of the blue.

I genuinely hope you all don't have to wait too much longer for DM. Now I'm going to have to start thinking about stalking the mailman.

Congratulations

So I emailed London 2 weeks ago and they said my file was under review and they would be in touch if anything further was needed. I've not heard anything since then not have I heard anything from the lawyer (who would get any correspondence). Should I email them again? It seems a lot of July and August peeps are getting DM or in process so I'm getting worried that we've not heard anything. It's practically 6 months now that our application has been in London.

I wouldn't worry, you know it is under review and is off the waiting pile. I don't think 2 weeks in the land of CIC is long, to us it is. I'm August too and I haven't heard anything. I am going to give it until the end of March before I send them an email as this will be 6 months in London and only then to check to make sure they haven't made any requests for info etc that I haven't got

So I emailed cic to see if we were going to have to extend my husbands medical. They emailed me back and told me that he doesn't have to and his application is now in process! Hooray! :)

I think that is great news. Hopefully you will hear something soon.

This is good to hear. I sent them the same about my medicals - they expire on March 8th - but haven't heard anything back :(

March 8th will be day 301 for me. I'm hoping that when they already take this long with an application that they cut us some slack...

Congrats on the new job Sweden! Welcome to the world of Tim Hortons coffee runs for breakfast :)

Finally some good news! Email from London regarding my medicals expiring on March 8th:

"Please be advised that we have requested a medical extension to your file. Please contact us again in one week and we will advise you of your new medical validity date."

haha I think she/he meant the coffee before going to work, not that there is something wrong with working at Tim's ;)

Congrats on the job Sweeden.

I am in my housecoat, drinking coffee and sending out resumes.... officially a massive cliche! Wish me luck! :)

Good luck indeed! :-) I can relate - I've done that for almost 3 months (minus the 2 weeks break at Christmas/New year!), and I got a "little" tired of it - now I'm going to work tomorrow! :-)

I actually contacted an immigration firm here, to see if I could work for them... not that I specially would enjoy it in the long run I think, but well - I was thinking that I could be paid to review/answer questions about immigration applications and make sure all papers are there etc... but well, got a job before I followed through, which is probably a good thing for my own sanity! :-)
