Hi Antz21

Please can you tell me who can I call or email in London VO office? This is not right anymore. If they need something or hit somekind of problems they need to get in contact so I can sort something out. 6 months to get a spousal approval and my file is been in process since Dec 17, 2012 after file transfer on 20 Aug 2012, seems very very very long. :'( :'( :'(

And another thing that is rattling my cage is for 7 days now, cant log in to ECAS. >:(

Here you go qtazzngal!

Thanks DGT :)

I will send them a message I want to gather my thoughts first and make sure when I write this message it wont be full of swears. I will have to calm myself down first.

thanks again

Hi, I see DGT got back to you with the link - which I didn't actually know (thanks DGT I might need this in the future too!)

It does seem a very long time, I had to wait 4 months for my sponsor approval and even then, we had to phone up and they told us that we just had to wait... Funnily enough our application was returned to us a week after the phone call with further instructions on how to correct our mistake...

I feel like sometimes they need a gentle reminder! Let us know how getting in contact goes for you. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

If it makes you feel any better, mine has been 'in process' since December 10th :(

But I didn't have 200 days for Stage 1 approval - what on earth happened there? Did they contact you at all with any queries about your file? That's pretty crazy.

No, no contact of any form whatsoever.

Hopefully I will see the end of this soon. I will sending a message to the VO and enquire - WHAT THE BLOODY HECK IS GOING ON! >:( :'(

Indeed! It sounds like Visa offices are chaos. My uncle works for the UKBA in Nigeria and it sounds pretty hectic. Mind you, even there they can get a decision made in 3 months...

Yeh they must have lost your file or something. I mean 6 months to decide that someone you are married to is eligible to sponsor you is beyond stupid!

Also qtaz I just want to check you're using the correct ECAS? The UCI number and name (etc) for Stage 2 approval should be the person being sponsored (i.e. the British person). For the Stage 1 ECAS update it was the person doing the sponsoring with a completely different UCI (i.e. the Canadian person). At least this is what happened with me...

Yes, using the correct File No and UCI coz I was able to access it before and showed all the information. But now 7 days now, ECAS is not working.

I guess when they saw our pictures, they didn't like the look of us that's why its taking sooo long :P - need to smile now, have no choice at this moment.

My ECAS just died, too! I had no problems with it all this time other people have been having issues. It's kinda weird, but I'm looking at it as a good thing. It freaked me out a little that my application wasn't behaving like everybody else's :P

It's been down for some time for a few people, hopefully it won't be much longer. I know it was mentioned in another thread that they're doing some kind of maintenance or upgrade. I have no idea why it would take this long, but I guess that's just government for ya.

Government - they hold my future in their hands. :( Cant make anykind of future plans until I hear from them. Basically my future in on hold. :'(

Congratulations!!! We have a similar timeline(ignoring my extra long sponsorship approval time) so hopefully I will get a DM soon!!

So I still can't log into ECAS - should I just [get my parents to] keep an eye out for a COPR being mailed to me? I guess ECAS makes no difference on when they actually send out the COPR and just lets you know when you should be expecting it?
How long do you think until I should get in contact with them if no COPR arrives and I still can't log into ECAS? I am ok with being patient for the moment, but when I see people with similar timelines it makes me eager/anxious that ours is coming up!! (We have been 'in process' since Jan 24).

Thanks for any advice/thoughts/input :D

you could ask your parents to look out for the COPR but it's a pretty unique-looking envelop (very long compared to normal size paper), brown envelop, clearly marked London VO etc...
Ecas is still not working for quite a few people, so hopefully that will be fixed soon. I don't think that there is a need for you to contact them - wait for ecas to come back, should happen soon... you should hear from them soon anyway. London doesn't send a mail to tell you that a decision has been made - you see it on ecas and then receive the COPR.
Good luck!

You've been waiting over a year? Jeeezzzzz. That really sucks.

Future on hold alright. It's such a pain. Which is a nice way of saying I want to kill most things most days :( I just can't wait for it to be over so I can start living a normal life again.
