Does 'medical received' just mean its been matched up or I have passed the medical?

I would also like to know the answer to this along with, if it says medical received does it mean the medicals are in London, and if so, is the application also now in London?

This just means they've received your medical, doesn't have anything to do with whether or not you passed it. It does mean they've been able to find it and attach it to your file, so yay!

You'll only know if you have passed the medicals if they don't ask for any additional tests when they open your file... so it's a bit early.

If anyone has had an interview and wouldn't mind filling out this survey :) I am trying to see if what I heard is correct. What I heard is that if your status changes to in-process before you are asked for an interview, you probably won't have an interview. The more people that fill this out, the more well rounded the results will be. :)

Once I have a larger number of responses, I'll post a nice little post with the results thus far.

Good luck to all of us in this immigration process!!

Hi forum friends,

Pretty sure I know the answer of this question myself, but I just have to ask - is there any way I can get an open work permit or similar before the sponsorship application stage 2 is approved? Going nuts...

Unfortunately, you can only get an open work permit when you apply inland. :( You may be able to get a work permit, but you'd need a job offer and the employer would need to get an LMO.

Thanks! I just wanted to double check that I haven´t missed anything about work visa.
I´m in a period right now where I´m so bored and feeling sorry for myself...

Ok so now I'm really confused...just received a email asking for 'fully completed travel history - IMM5562 form found on page 6 of the following link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3901e.pdf.

But then right on the checklist included in the link it says 'persons submitting their application to the Canadian visa office in Paris must complete the attached IMM 5562 form Supplementary Information-Your TravelsTravels...which is why we didn't include it..as we are not applying through Paris!? Did everyone else include this and I just misunderstood this (one of many) confusing forms??.......well on the bright side, at least they have opened my our file..

I didn't include it either exactly because of what you said. Interesting!

Your are right, you didn't have to include it, however this may be their way of asking you for additional information regarding your travel history and rather than you submitting it it in your own format, it is easier if you submit it in a format that they can read easily by asking you to use the form. However, the cic officer might be confused, as we are, and asking for a form that he/she thinks you need and don't.

On the bright side, you are In Process *thumbs up*
