My wife submitted our application on the 18th October and it was received in Mississauga on the 19th. She received her sponsor approval on the 6th November, which was a lot quicker than the number of days specified on the immigration processing times page! Obviously we still have a few months to wait in stage 2 as a best case scenario, so I'm trying not to think about it too much at the minute. Am I right to consider the 6th November our AOR? And is that roughly when London will have received my application?
I'd fill out the timeline on my profile but I guess I'm not allowed to as I haven't reach the post criteria for this forum.
Also, I entered Canada to spend some time with my wife and take some of my belongings over about a month and a half ago. Originally I intended to return to England just after Christmas and make a return trip to Canada so I could organise the rest of my belongings and see family who I wouldn't be seeing for a while, but I couldn't bear leaving my wife so we decided that I'd just stay and miss my return flight. We can see my family and get my belongings in order when I fly back to pick up my PR. I was wondering though, would staying in Canada longer than I said I would when I landed cause a problem? I don't have a return date stamped in my passport, just the date I landed, so I assume I'm good for 6 months - but obviously when I spoke to the border control person I said I'd be staying a shorter time, and I also filled that time span on my customs form.
I'm pretty sure I'm OK as like I said I don't have a specific return date stamped in my passport, but I don't want to overstay and jeopardize my application!
