The website says London VO takes 8 months on average, and that is still quick for a Visa office. The small number of cases we have here on the spreadsheet only tells a small part of the real number of cases they have to process, be patient.

Can anyone help with this?

I arrived in Canada on August 29th so got my passport stamped (which I'm assuming means I'm good for 6 months..) and I was supposed to be going back to the UK on October 29th, but I am postponing that by around a month as it makes more sense for my partner to work for longer and for us to return to Scotland just for the month of December (with Family for Christmas etc.) We are really hoping I will have my PR by the end of the year but if not I am worried about returning to Canada in January. Looking at flights going out on the 10th of Jan meaning my 6 months won't have long left, when I re-enter will I be given another additional 6 months as I left or will it just be whats left and then I will need to try and get an extension?

I am really hoping life is simple and I have my PR but just in case! (Really hating this whole not knowing if everything is definite or not that comes with this process! haha)

Thanks! :)

Hey,

Yes you are on a 6 month TRV (Temporary residents Visa). When you leave that then cancel's that Visa (even if you went to the states for a day trip lol)

2nd part of your question is where I am at now and hoping I have my PR mid- late October as I am at the moment decorating and preparing to lease my property as a rental investment I guess. I should be done decorating in about 2 weeks or so, then I am really pondering what then??? I would ideally like to list it immediately and move to Canada hopefully with my PR but am in trepidation to move to Canada without my COPR as I will no longer have ties to the UK. A border officer if thinking you are going to settle without your COPR can refuse you entry (Which would leave me in a precarious postion if I went and leased my property out). I would say to you like myself that COPR is a golden ticket, without it, it is a big risk.

What to do??? lol

Good luck ;D

Great thanks for the advice!

yeah yours sounds a lot more complicated than mines haha we dont have any property or anything so we are easy enough to get up and go!
