Your partner need to order it on your behalf

My case is in process since 1 nov and nothing new so far :(

I landed this morning as PR! The experience was pretty seamless. We decided to make a weekend of it and stayed overnight in Buffalo to check out the shopping and eat Buffalo wings at the Anchor Bar, apparently where they were conceived.

So on arrival at the Lewiston/Queenston US border they sent us into the waiting room so that I could get my I-94 waiver form. Only had to wait about 30 minutes, and the lady processing me was really nice and friendly. She asked why we were visiting Buffalo, and then queried my status in Canada. Up to that point I hadn't admitted that the purpose of the trip was to land on the return journey, but I felt from her questions that she wasn't satisfied that it was 'just a shopping trip' and seemed concerned about me being a visitor. Anyway, so I said my intention was to land on the return journey the following day, and she said 'oh, I just need to go and speak to my supervisor, because we really shouldn't let you in. We should send you back to complete your landing, and then you can come back in to the US'. I was really hoping to avoid this, and thankfully her supervisor said it was fine, she would allow us in, and kind of jokingly said, 'your Canadian papers better be in order, cos if they don't let you in, then we have to deal with you'.

Return journey was really seamless. We arrived at the border around 10am in the hopes of beating the rush. No queue at all, we just drove straight up. The initial border guard was very friendly, asked the purpose of our trip, whether we had anything to declare and then directed us to the border agency offices. Again, no queue at all - we were the only ones there. It was all processed in about 10-15 minutes and in pretty much silence. I handed the form and passport over, she confirmed my address/phone number, asked if all the details on the COPR were correct, and asked me to sign or initial the relevant spots. She asked if I had goods to follow, which I didn't. I had prepared a list of goods accompanying me - even though it was just what I had brought with me from T.O. for our overnight stay in Buffalo, but she said it wasn't necessary. I kind of thought that would be the case, but had a list prepared in any case. And that was it. She gave me a few forms with details on how to apply for health, SIN etc, and we were on our way. It was efficient and as I said very seamless.

Now tomorrow morning I am off to register for OHIP & SIN.

Hey Pinklady and all London Outlanders,

Sponsorship approval received via email today. Phew! ;D

One wait ends, another wait begins!

I have updated the spreadsheet. Do you know what date Mississauga received your application? I have Jan 5th for date sent.
Just so I can calculate the processing time at Mississauga.
Thanks!

Mailed out my wifes application 04/02/12 , and we were notified by Royal Post that her envelope was delivered on 15/02/12 to the Mississauga P.O. Box!!!! Does anyone know how long it roughly takes for the application to be processed / sent to the London Office????? We are planning to move to Canada this summer.

Also as I see most of you keep tack of you application process by listing App Filed, AOR Recieved, File Transfer, etc... Based on this I'm assuming that I should put App Filed as 15/02/12????

Hey, welcome to the forum.

I have added you to the spreadsheet, hope that's ok!

The current processing time for sponsor approval is 48 days and 7 months in London. However if you take a look at the spreadsheet, you will see average time for processing in London is actually 3 months, so you might be here in time for summer!

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp

And yes, application filed would be the date Mississauga received your file.

Hello, My application was received on the 3rd February. The only way I know this is because I sent it recorded delivery. The processing time, stage 1, currently says 48 days(working on applications received on January 3, 2012). Does this mean that I will not hear anything, or can't track anything until the date changes to when they received my app? It then takes 48 days from that date?

Sorry to sound thick but hearing nothing makes me question myself ::)

Thanks

I can throw my hat into the ring now. Application mailed 23/02 and received at CPC-M 27/02. Now the waiting begins.

Feel free to add me to the spreadsheet, pinklady!

Thanks Pinklady!!! Yeah I'm hoping to be in Canada in time for BBQ season and catch a few slow pitch games with my old team......fingers crossed. I assume that it takes roughly 48 days for it to be processed in Canada / files transfered to London?

cheers

Caddboy - yes, its take approx 48 day at the moment to receive your sponsor approval. Then they will send your file to London.

visanews - You are unlikely to hear anything from Mississauga until you get the sponsorship letter/email. Although some people do receive an acknowledgement letter. Expect to hear something in another 3-4 weeks.

Deficient - I have added you to the spreadsheet, and welcome to the forum! :)

Victorfoxtrot - Congratulations!!!!
