Sweet Jen B!!

Can you tell me when your passport arrived in London? Mine got there on the 26th Nov I think, so I'm hoping they're sending it back soon! Have started looking for jobs and found 3 that start in the new year, so I want it back so I can land already!

So my passport arrived in London November 9th and took exactly 3 weeks and 1 day to make it back to Canada, so on a guess I'd say it is 2 weeks processing time right now! Let's hope it can keep that way over the holiday period!

Oh and for people looking in to medicals, I got mine done in Vancouver for $175, which seems to be a good price, I called everyone in Van who did medicals and that was the best by about 50 bucks! Much cheaper than the uk! I can dig out the guys name if someone in the van area wants to know who it was, saves you some phone calls :)

Hi Pinklady!
hope you're still here monitoring and observing :) (sorry for my English, not native)

I'd like to be added to the spreadsheet as well, please.

Hey,
I think you have to have posted at least 10 times before you're allowed to PM.
I'll add you to the spreadsheet - welcome!

Hi there, If you don't mind me asking, how come your case took so long?

Pinklady,

Thanks for the additional info on the medical. Good to know these things! Took a look at the spreadsheet, it was nice to see the quick processing times! I like to think of our case as being pretty straightforward.

Victorfoxtrot,

I'm based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. There are only 2 DMPs for the city. Perhaps I'll try calling the other one listed and see if it is any cheaper. It would be nice to have a price below $200!

Yay! There's finally someone after me on the spreadsheet! I was feeling lonely... Hello lozzyblue :)

Wouldn't it be great if the only applications were the ones on the spreadsheet?! We'd be done in a month! Hmmm...must stop fantasising at work.

Hi!

sure it's good if you ask - the forum's main idea is to share - right? :)

we have no idea why it took so long. the office never asked us about anything regarding documentation or any info. since they received our application in London, they never contacted us in order to request any additional info. our file was just sitting there waiting for forever, I guess. we ordered CAIPS a few times -nothing, not even clue. We contacted cic a few times - all we received was just "please, wait patiently, we're still conducting b/checks. bla bla.."
after over 8 months wait, we decided to contact border agency and CSIS - received confirmation that our b/checks were finished and provided to almost 6 months ago. after contacting cic again & attaching reply from both agencies they just decided to ignore us. so our last resort was contacting our MP. we're very thankful to the MP office - they helped us out in retrieving the info regarding our case. as cic dragged our case for so long, our medicals expired so we had to get new ones. after the medicals were filed, MP office again helped us out in requesting the status - and, voila, cic made a decision on our case and requested passport.

p.s.: we had no interview, no requests for any additional info.

long story short, feel free to communicate with cic and MP and any other related agencies if you think your case has been delayed.

hope our experience will be helpful :) if any questions - please, feel free to ask. after all, we're all in the same boat.

Wow, what a night mare for you guys!!
I'm glad its all over now though, sheesh!

yeah, indeed! :)
the wait was a nightmare. after it was all over, we had no emotions left, we're both just filled with silent happiness it's over..if the decision is positive, it means you've done everything right. :)
it looks like our case time-line is abnormal, so others who choose this visa office shouldn't be afraid or worried.

I've posted this on another forum and have yet to get an answer, so I'm hoping some of the lovely folks here can advise me:

We're still waiting for PPR. (Has anyone even heard from the London VO since mid-November? Are they still alive? Is PPR still being sent by e-mail? I swear I haven't seen any PPR posts since then!)

We are travelling internationally at the end of February and won't be back in Canada until well after my partner's medical expires. If we don't get PPR in time, how do we do this? I assume he'll have to do another medical. Will we also have to re-apply/wait for another visa?

Also, if we do get PPR soon, is there any way to get them to send it back faster than usual? (From what I understand, we should allow up to 8 weeks to get it back from London since we live in Canada. We're currently about 11 weeks to our travel date, so we're cutting it really close, especially since we need time to flagpole!)

My wife landed yesterday. Everything went pretty smoothly. :D

Hi, guys!

I was just wondering; once you have received the CSQ (Québec selection certificate) how long do you have to wait until you receive your PPR?

And they started processing in October 17 th. they have requested additional info on oct 24 and since then we havent heard anything. i dont know what they are doing wt the case. I guess they have to do background check with islamabad as well.
Well anyways if ur not uk national i think it takes longer depending on which country ur from. As for when ull get the ppr nobody knows.
