It depends... Mine has taken 2weeks at the office to issue, so calculating delivery and sending the passport back to you... 4weeks... so send it asap!!! before the mad christmas rush!

Hubby is in Dublin too so he is sending by Fedex and they should receive on Monday....

That is, to send it the passport and wait a few weeks to get it back? Are they still sending PPR notifications by e-mail or is it by post?

Is the passport posted back recorded delivery? I got a parcel notice in the mail box yesterday and the only thing I'm expecting atm is my passport so hopefully this is it!!

Yes the passports are sent international signed for so I'll say thats it!

Thanks Aperture.... Actually 2 hours after the interview my husband got an email for the PPR request.... From what i understand if he sent by mail it will take couple of weeks and if he goes in person its 2 weeks....

Oh, I didn't realise you had to go through an interview--in that case, extra-congrats! (Waiting is torture, but I assume an interview can be even more stressful.)

Hi all,

I'm a Canadian citizen marrying a British man on December 23rd of this year. I've been reading up on everything we'll need to do post wedding to get him a spousal visa. Now, I have questions for the pre wedding period!

First off, is there anything we need to do BEFORE he comes here for our wedding? He arrives December 9th.

Also, we're both a bit worried about both my fiance and his family getting through customs. Should they just say they are here to visit friends or family? Or should they tell the truth, that they have come to Canada for our wedding?

Advice is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hey guys! So I picked up the parcel this morning and it was my passport with a shiny new visa inside! So it took London three weeks and one day to get it back to me in Canada!! Landing is booked for January 16th after a nice weekend in the States with my oh ;D

They received my passport Nov 22nd so i hope to have it bk this week or next week which would be the best Christmas present ever lol.

Yay hubby has landed! Was in/out of immigration in under 10 minutes. I got my Xmas present early and my dream has finally come true!!! Sooo happy!!

Good luck to the rest of you either waiting or just applying. The process can take a lot out of you, but is so rewarding in the end...if you manage to keep your sanity!!
