I am now a champion member, this is my 1001st post...... not sure if thats a good thing or not LOL
:)
Do you do this for a living? :P :D

I agree - Pinklady you're a star. You ought to start charging for your advice, you'd make a killing! :P

Congratulations to those getting PPR's, it's nice to see the tail-end of this process.

With regards to the Option C Printout, I've written a letter explaining why I don't have the document and have instead offered a letter stating my salary, contracted hours etc, a few wage slips and bank statements showing my monthly income. Hopefully this will be enough...

Thanks again for the help everyone :)

Haha, very funny!
My job allows me to spend lots of time on the computer doing often not a lot. Getting paid to browse the net at my leisure isn't so bad lol!

Sounds like a good job to me! :)

Its not bad at all! In fact I don't even mind coming into work.

I mean I'd rather stay home..... but since I can't do that i'm happy with what i've got :)

I have to agree with everyone- Thanks Pinklady for all the helpful advice over the past few months!

Hi ShaunT, have you got the option C printout?

Option C printout was completed and handed to the DMP when I went for the medical.

Hi everyone,

Still plugging away at the application, meds were done last week and things are finally beginning to come together. We too should have ours sent off by the first week in November.

Pinklady- I saw you mentioned the Option C printout, is it applicable for outland spousal applications?

As I believe it you should have already completed this form and taken it with you when you had your medicals done last week.

Guys, I am so depressed and wept! I got an email from London asking for that freaking FBI record, simply because the @!"##¤&/&%# doctor who did my medicals wrote that I had lived in the USA, when in fact I never officially moved there, only visited for several months.

I replied to London explaining this, but don't have much hope that they'll listen. Applied for the FBI yesterday but will take months to get it.

I am sooooooo disappointed. Darn doctor.

Think you are getting mixed up with the Appendix C for the medical.

The option c printout is the last notice of assessment for the most recent taxation year in Canada- the sponsor needs to provide this if available. If they don't have one then they need to explain why on a separate piece of paper. We didn't have one but provided the UK equivalent instead and wrote a paragraph or two explaining why. Our reason for not having one was because my partner (sponsor) had not worked in Canada for 6 years and therefore was not filing Taxes there. Was provided a P60 (end of year certificate) instead and some payslips.

Now that I am done weeping (see my post above) I have some questions (assuming my whole process will be delayed and take many many more months):

Now that I am in the middle of a process, can I enter Canada on a tourist Visa legally and/or will it complicate my on-going permanent resident application process?

How many times can one "renew" a tourist Visa and if doing that, does it complicate the on-going permanent resident process?

When on a tourist Visa awaiting Perm. residency, will the time spent in Canada count towards the time needed in order to apply for Ca citizenship?

My Canadian husband is definitely moving back to Canada in January. I want to join him, but seems I must go as a tourist.

Try not to get too down. At least they are looking at you file :) And you never know, it might not take as long as you think. For me it took just under 4 weeks for my fingerprint check to come back and that included posting to and from the UK. (Assume you sent your fingerprints?)
Good luck... and sorry you have more waiting! ???

I've been in and out of Canada as a tourist since January 2010. Every time you cross the border there is a chance they'll turn you around, but it worked out for me every time. Just make sure you have a return ticket, money to support yourself while in Canada and ties to your homeland. Once you get in they are quite lenient the first time you ask for an extension. Given that your application has made it this far I am sure you can go to Canada as a tourist and stay there until your app is finalized. Good luck.
