You do have 30 days to submit the passport, and then mine took just under 6 weeks to come back to me in Canada. But recently its been much faster.
If you get the PPR end Sept, early Oct, and her flight is at end Nov, that could be enough time. Thats a good 6/7 weeks. I guess you just need to wait and see how things play out. If she get the PPR nearer to her trip, perhaps she could submit it from Denmark and wait for it to be returned to her there?
There's not a lot you can do until you hear from London... just keep your fingers crossed! :)

If they're sending us the notice by mail that means it'll be shorter than 30 days correct? We got our sponsorship approval in the mail instead of email like some people did...

Yeah I think if you get it by mail its 30 days from the date of the letter.
But we got sponsor approval by mail and the PPR by email.

gonna ask one more time for some more info on my e-cas. tomorrow its a month since my gf got accepted as a sponsor, but theres not really any indication that London has received my application. I have not received any correspondence from London, and e-cas has not been updated since the sponsorship got approved except for one thing: it now says "medical results have been received". do I have reason to worry, or should I just assume it has been received ok in London? is the fact that they updated e-cas about my medical results a sign that they are working on my application there? thanks for any help.

Same for all of us I think. London don't seem to issue AORs... the "medical results have been received" update, will have been added by London so it is a sign that your application is there :)

I have some questions for those of you who moved to Canada with children:

How/where did you register that your child now resides in Canada? (My child is a Canadian citizen but has never lived there before.)

Where did/do your children get Canadian immunizations, and did their foreign ones count as valid or did they have to take everything again? (My child has followed the Swedish vaccination programme since birth.)

What did you do to meet other kids and make new friends?

At what age did your child go to the dentist in Canada for the first time, and is that paid by the health insurance or not?

And now a question to all of you:

Which private health insurance did you buy for the first 3 months in Canada? If I have got it right the national/provincial health insurance doesn't cover your first 3 months in Ca.

Thanks

Regarding the dentist for children question, in Ontario where I live, dental care is not covered by provincial insurance. However, if your child requires dental care and you cannot afford it, there are a few programs where children under 17 can get free basic dental care. See the link below:

Welcome to Canada!!!

Yep! Once or twice :) I've hopefully got a job interview today or tomorrow too. That would be amazing. I thought it would take at least a month

Hi all. Can I please be added to the London Spreadsheets? We sent the application august 22, it got there august 26th. It is a common-law sponsorship. My partners medical was July 26th. We are applying Outland as we are based in the UK. Our girls our in the process of getting their citizenship through me!

Many Thanks.

Anna McG, you send everything to Mississauga ON where they will assess your husband as a sponsor. Once he is approved, they will forward the application on to London where they assess you for permanent residency.

Lyx, congrats on the PPR! You have 1 year from the date of your medicals to land (or until your passport expires, whichever comes first) If you havent landed within this time then yes you will have to start over. It doesnt matter when you land as long as its before the expiry date.

My PR card is valid until May 2016 (Passport is good until 2018 and I landed in April 2011 so not sure why 5 years 1 month...) When your PR card expires you must apply for a new one to retain the PR status.
To keep permanent resident status you have to live in canada for 2 out of every 5 years.

I hope that helps!

Hi! Thanks for everyone's helpful posts :)

I am sorry (I am blonde) but on the Appendix C form I have to fill out for the medical it says to state the visa office that will be processing the file. I guess thats for them to send the medical report to - so does that also get sent to Canada? or for that should I put down London? Im thinking it should be London if thats the bit where they assess me for permanent residency?

Thanks again everyone!

The 'medical results have been received' shows up under the PR application section, not the sponsorship portion.
And no, not every application requires and interview. I did not.
Does it say when the application was received in London?
