Ok folks, I can't seem to find anything that will answer my exact question on the net and I'm
Hoping you could help out.

My partner and I are planning on applying for PR for myself in the very near future. I am wondering if the process can be made quicker in any way as my partner would like to move asap. I've read that getting a job offer can make things go quicker but would that be the situation if I was to send my PR application from scotland prior to having a job offer?

Or would it be quicker for me to go to canada, find a job ( even though I'm not supposed to on a visitor entry) , apply for work permits from uk, then go back and apply for PR status once I'm working?

You would be quicker, just applying for PR on sponsorship while in the UK and save your self some money. Nothing is going to speed up the process.

Thanks scottishmaple. I thought that was the situation, just needed to clarify. We are going to get the application forms sent off in the very near future, just having to wait for Id for my partner so she can get her canadian passport. So hopefully I'll be able to join her permanently in feb/ march next year, planning on going over with her when she heads back in August though. Really looking forward to going.

I went through a period of really hoping for an interview, because if they if they did have any doubts about our relationship, an interview would kill them! So it's not that unusual From what I've read on the forums, most people get a DM within a couple of days after an interview so it does mean that things are moving. Good luck!

My husband and I have a significant age gap so we were all but expecting to be 'flagged' for an interview. We are so ready for this we're counting the days until we fly to London!

Good luck for the interview! but with both of you living together in Canada, and being married, the officer probably won't have much to ask you, once he/she realizes that you flew in from Canada together to attend the interview...

Quick update from me..logged onto e-cas this morning and.......IN PROCESS!! Never thought I would be so excited - 6 long months to get into process - fingers crossed wont be too much longer, but not building my hopes up. Was going to e-mail this morning to change my address but think I'll leave it alone now. Don't know if there is any merit in this theory but wonder if an application that has children included takes longer - maybe additional checks? Anyway...best Monday morning I've had in a while

For spreadsheet purposes it says they started processing application on May 10th. Good luck to everybody else still waiting and thanks for all your support on here guys.
