I wouldn't worry. Give it another week. Canada post isn't quickest service I have ever experienced and the don't deliver on a saturday like in the uk. It often takes more than two weeks for mail to arrive in canada when I'm sending somethingtanomartone said:Does anyone know how long it takes for London to send out the visa once you have had decision made? A personalised response from immigration - aren't you the lucky one?!LondonToronto said:I had sent an email inquiring about my husbands status after they requested additional documents and before receiving my DM today.
The person responsible for his file emailed me confirming the outcome of the decision

it's strange indeed - I travelled a lot and didn't have a problem... it might also be sometimes if you have a very common name they need to get extra finger prints (in Canada etc) to make sure who you are...michty6 said:I thought pretty straightforward: gf and I have been dating for about 5.5 years now, lived together about 3.5 years with plenty of joint leases and other evidence, visa exempt, only lived in the UK (and Canada now) for >6 months so no other police certificates, already living and working in Canada - I even now have my Canadian CA (Chartered Accountancy). The only 'complication' (if you could call it that) is that we have travelled a lot together, including all over Asia while she was doing some studying in China. According to the other forum this slows down your application but I didn't think it would make it THIS slow. The only other slower visa exempt applications on the spreadsheet had (1) fingerprint requests and (2) medical furtherance requests both of which add a lot of time to the process - mine has had neither of these so is the slowest 'straightforward' visa exempt application on the spreadsheet as far as I can see...
I'm in the same boat, after receiving DM i am waiting to see that COPR!Woffles said:This next couple of weeks are going to be long ones. Won't start checking the mail every day til at least Wednesday hahahaha.
ecas is actually updated in Canada and not at VO level for most of the information, so they can change it but it doesn't necessary show on ecas...Uk2Can said:Its weird! They told us it is changed but its just not on ecas. I dont know....their strange sometimes!
mine took about 2 weeks to get to the west coast, so it should be here this week - you're almost there!tanomartone said:Does anyone know how long it takes for London to send out the visa once you have had decision made? once you get the COPR, you go to the border with your passport, flagpole and land as a PR. Make sure that your passport is STAMPED with the date, as well as the COPR. Then with passport and signed COPR, you go to any Service Canada, and then can issue the SIN. You'll get the SIN card in the mail 10 days later, but you get the number right away, so you work the same day if you want to. The PR card comes about 35 days later.andytoronto said:I'm in the same boat, after receiving DM i am waiting to see that COPR!
Does anyone know how soon can some one work after? I mean whats the process right after COPR? do i just go to the border get landed status and then to city hall and apply for my new SIN?
This might sound a little dumb, but are service Canada and Service Ontario the same thing? I found a Service Ontario place near me so I was wondering if we can go there when the time comes.Sweden said:once you get the COPR, you go to the border with your passport, flagpole and land as a PR. well the long part was getting that famous DM - now 2 more weeks is nothing! the day DM appears on ecas is usually the day that the COPR is being mailed out, so it takes somewhere around 2 to 5 days in Europe to arrive, and 10 to 15 days (east to west coast!) when already in Canada!Woffles said:This next couple of weeks are going to be long ones. Yeh my name is not common in the slightest! So it just seems random that mine is taking so long. Dawlphin on here got asked for the exact same form (travel history) 5 weeks after I did and got her acceptance over a week ago. I'm sure I can't be the only person that has done some travelling but what can you do other than just keep waiting...Sweden said:it's strange indeed - I travelled a lot and didn't have a problem... it might also be sometimes if you have a very common name they need to get extra finger prints (in Canada etc) to make sure who you are...
