It definitely feels like a big "leap forward" without really knowing where feet will land... and getting through immigration I was a little anxious of course, but I was not even asked for anything! ( I had proofs of funds to compensate for the one way ticket, the copy of approval letter etc!). THe border officer asked if I had a job at home (no), and that was it... it was pretty clear that I was coming to stay, but she didn't seem to have a problem with that. I also quit my job before going to Canada, and it was a bit stressful.... but it went well. and I kept on telling myself all the benefits of "arriving before PR" - getting myself familiar withe the new surroundings, finding a place to stay, starting networking in Canada etc - and also not having to pack everything at home at the last minute, but having a date when you're leaving ( allowing time to say good byes, pack the house etc). For me the last part especially balanced the not having a visa, because I wanted to spend time with friends and family, and could only do that with a departure date already booked...scottishmaple said:I am stressed out of my box, I am quitting my job, my daughter will be out of school. and it is all a bit too much to think about sometimes. How did you deal with it, especially not having the visa?
Hope the stress goes down a little for you, and you hear from CIC soon!
