Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

I'm 121 or so days waiting. My visa was apparently sent over around June 20th from Mississauga to London. I'm a military spouse so I'm used to being away from my partner. Our time together when we do see one another, is so precious, I hope he's not on tour by the time I get this darn pr!
I've tried to contact UK but there's no response. He's tried calling CIC in Canada but he's only on hold all of the time. I can wait until the very beginning of January at which time my medical runs out and so do my finances.
I'm at a loss as to what to do, what if my application hasn't been sent to London or what if they haven't received my medical? I know everyone here is going through the same thing, I just wish we had access to the information and location of our applications just for piece of mind.

Hey Sarah,

Wow your application seems similar to mine only yours was sent 3 weeks before mine but the trying to contact London with no joy and my wife spending 8 hours this week (2 hours everyday after work Mon-Thurs) and probably ringing them now to try and speak with them. So this week I have barely spoke with her because she is on hold to CIC CA until it closes . Yes as Bonitanita found out that we can't assume London has our file, they may have but nobody is sure unless they have had reference from them which most of us have not. Access to information really is the thing about this whole process that sucks the most, you file should be updated once a month with a brief note then what happened to Bonitanita would have been avoided. If your ECAS says medicals received then "it can be assumed that London has your file" that HOWEVER is by no means a guarantee but that is all I have that indicates it maybe with them. You can order GCMS or CAIPS notes or whatever they are called but they will arrive 30 days from when you order them and from what I hear they are very hard to decode the ramblings of CIC.

Yes we seem to be in similar situations. If you do get yours before me, let me know how it goes for you. My e-CAS just says application received February 29th, which is when it was received in Mississauga. Then the letter around June 20th stating when we got the spousal sponsorship. Oh well I guess we'll have to continue this, not so fun waiting game!

If u cannot log in using your file number, email the London office to ask why. That is what they responded to for me. You're not alone.

I am not sure what bonitanita's case is.
How I do it is UCI with my personal info (I am the sponsor)
or
Application number with my husband's personal info (he is the person being sponsored)
It works for me either way.

Try doing that.

I can only log in using my UCI reference but it doesn't work with my husbands applicant number. Is this a cause for concern? Think I should try contacting the London office? So frustrating as I emailed them once before and never had a response....that was before my application was submitted however.

How did you get an applicant's UCI number. I am extremely concerned I have never had an UCI number of my own, I have always used my wife's details. When we were sponsor approved the receipt gave her a UCI and a Rec No. Never has any paperwork or E-mail given me a UCI.

I have a weeks vacation to take and was thinking about going to visit my husband in Canada for a week with my daughter....just wondered if this will cause problems at the border with our application already in. Would I have to declare dual intent even though it is only for a week? Has anyone taken a vacation to see their spouse during their application and had any problems?

As far as I was aware, you only get 1 UCI number which is sent to the sponsor

I wouldn't worry, we are in the same boat, and some people who have received PR have never been able to log in ECAS.

Just because I could not log in with the File no. or applicant number, does not mean that if you can't, your files were never sent to London either.

It seems as though a lot of people are never able to log into ECAS and then get COPR without any troubles.

However, if you're concerned, then, it may be worth calling CIC and asking what date your files were transferred. You may get a faster response than emailing London since most of the time, they do not reply back.

Rising Sun - I have an applicant number because I got a visitor visa extension. No other reason!

Thanks Bonitanita, I was just concerned because everybody who posted recently seemed to have a UCI no. Since somebody updated the spreadsheet with exceptional circumstances and those in and around me are starting to get processed, your case worries me a lot. I hope it is down to the fact that my stage 1 was quick but I see others who applied later starting to receive 2nd stage confirmation. Maybe it is my medicals are about to expire that is the hold up but other than that our case is relatively straight forward, been together 7 years and married for just over a year. I have not lived outside the U.K ever, nor have I been out the country more than 6 months ever, I have only lived in 2 places since I was 18 and my employment history is straight forward, with no criminal convictions. So background checks should be relatively straight forward. I just can't fathom what is going on and why almost all applicants have heard something be it good or bad within 100 days.

Landed on 15/11/2012. Awaiting COPR
My case should be simple too! I've lived in Canada for 22 yrs, then moved to the UK in 1998 and lived here ever since. I've got dual citizenships and been working as a Air Traffic Controller and have no criminal records at all! Got a speeding ticket a few yrs ago! My wife, whom I am sponsoring has lived here all her life and also is a professional with no medical problems or criminal history. Both our children are dual citizens of Britain and Canada, daughter 6 and son 2...such a simple case and should have been delt with ages ago. I am pleased for everyone who are obtaining COPR's but finding it fusterating July applicants are being processed a head of June applicants. Please July applicants do not think i'm not happy for you!! Its just fusterating they can't do one month at a time, i'm sure if they did, things might be efficient and far more expeditous. Damn you London VO!!
