Is the package supposed to be acknowledged somewherewhen they get it or does it get thrown in a massive pile waiting to be opened?

From what you've said, it sounds like their systems were just 'down' or in the middle of an update, hence why they couldn't access it. I sent my papers from inside Canada and used the Canada Post tracking system, but not one that required a signature. All I got when I logged in with my tracking number was very basic updates e.g. 'item has left post office', 'item has arrived in Missisauga', and then finally 'item has been delivered at destination' or something like that! Sounds very much like you have used the same service as me, and I would say that you can rest easy if the tracker said the item had been delivered to it's destination. I'm positive that something will turn up in the mail for you. I just reckon it is taking longer because it has to go to the UK.

I'm sure I wont be saying it for long but it's nice to have the application sent away.

I got engaged 27th November Last year and married 10th September. So with 10months of planning the wedding and nearly 2 months of putting our application together it's nice to be able to get home from work put the tv on and not have to worry about planning anything or filling in application forms.

Pinklady - Thanks for adding me onto the sheet. Some impressive times on there. Just hope my application is as straight forward. ;D

Haha my best tip is to don't get into a habit of checking e-cas and this forum every day. Just try to completely forget that you are waiting for something and go on with your life. It's hard, but it absolutely sucks to be aware of and worried about your application every day. You'll get your results eventually, and unfortunately there's nothing you can do in the meantime!

I'm hoping to get my passport returned to me today, so I can flagpole land this weekend

I hope mine comes today too. I'm climbing the walls and freaking out at anyone who looks at me wrong.

I emailed them the other day and they said my passport was sent back on the 3rd November.

Regarding PR card... do you get that when you land? Or do you have to apply, which would take even more time?

When you land they ask for a canadian address from you. This is so they know where to send the PR card. The landing is the applying. You will get it in the mail 6-8 weeks after landing.

No additional forms or anything.

If the Gods are willing, perhaps. What gets updated on eCAS and when seems fairly arbitrary.
