ecas status changed on Friday to "in process". Hope this means ppr is imminent - we had a big rush of pprs until I was the "next" one on pinklady's spreadsheet. And then of course it went silent. Frustrating waiting, and every day there's nervous excitement when I get home from work and see the post on the doormat, followed immediately by crushing defeat when I see it's just pizza leaflets and bank statements!

Hi chrischris... I'm eagerly waiting for your approval too my app was filed 2 weeks after yours. London seems to have gone quiet but hopefully that means they are busy working on a batch of apps and we'll all here some good news very soon! Hello everybody,

we have a situation here! I havent heard from CHC-London since the time they received my application, my wife enquired through her MP and we have got the reply that background checks has been initiated and they sent me an email letter on 15/08/2011 requesting for more information!

problem is that I never received such or any kind of email from them till date, only email we received was sponsorship approval back in may--after that no communication at all-- I just checked onceagain thoroughly if I may have overlooked it but not! apart from an email from them I have all sorts of junk in my inbox, lol,

now my question is, how many days do you have to reply them normally?-- if you don't reply will it damage the whole process in anyway?-- which email address should I contact to let them know about the situation?

any help in this matter would be appriciated! thanks!

When they ask for more information you can be given 30, 45 or 60 days to respond.

You should contact them as soon as possible!

I just wanted to ask you that my file has been transfered to London VO on 30th of august. Since then when i checked the status it only shows 'We recieved your family sponsorship application'', nothing else. Do you have any idea as to how long it takes before they start processing or updating the status, like medical result is recieved''. I know i dont have worry anything yet but i am just curious.

Your comment on this would be highly appreciated.

It will probably be at least 6 weeks until your file shows 'in process'. It could be much longer than this.
The 'medical results have been received' part could show up at any time.
And then it could disappear again as it did on mine.
Unfortunately all you can do is wait and try and be patient - I know how hard this is!!
Nothing is guaranteed though and ecas shouldn't be relied on. Keep checking though, we all do/did it!

The 'medical results have been received' part could show up at any time.
And then it could disappear again as it did on mine.
Unfortunately all you can do is wait and try and be patient - I know how hard this is!!

thats really great, thank you very much for the prompt reply, my wife has spoken to someone at the canadian visa processing centre and was told by one lady that London DOES answer phone enquiries regarding spousal cases, I am not sure how correct is she but would definitely give it a go tomorrow!
she mentioned that most probably its an updated pcc request from CHC-London and that we do not require an interview, woohooooo

I have a question about the 8 photographs we have to send that arent quite passport pictures! I live in South Devon - does anyone know of anyone who does them around the area - or do certain companies do them? I saw in my post office passport photo booth machine an option for 'visa photos' but I dont think they are quite the correct size - has everyone been very specific and to the millimetre when doing them?

Got mine done at max spielmann, I had them done and then decided I didnt think the background was white enough, but then noticed she did use the grey one not white, so went back 2 weeks later and told them and they did them again for free
