Hi all,

I need your urgent advise with a PPR related matter!

Just got a passport request letter, which includes an updated information chart that asks for principal applicant's passport details (name, passport number, expiry date, height, eye color, native language).

It also lists "Spouse or Partner". I was confused, because I'm being sponsored by my Canadian wife, and wasn't sure whether her passport details need also to be included in the same form?!!

Appreciate your feedback on this!

Hi there, I have received approval email on October 7,

“If you are receiving this letter electronically via your online account, please note that the documents referenced below are being sent to you in the mail with a copy of this letter. If you are receiving this letter by mail, all documents mentioned below, if applicable to you, accompany this letter.”

It’s been 2 weeks and still haven’t received any mail in my mailbox, does anyone know what’s the time frame to receive this mail?

I got my confirmation email on Oct 16th. Now waiting patiently for hard copy of COPR to come in, they told me they would send it out last week, but that was a lie I guess. Really hope it'll be soon...

I have swedish passport but born in Iran

Irrelevant where you are born, you are considered Swedish if you travel on your Swedish passport. Sweden is a visa-exempt country for Canada, so NO visa is required. You are fine to travel to Canada on a valid Swedish passport and CoPR only. That is why they did not request your passport.

I also have another concern, on the letter that I received it states that “documents mentioned below, if applicable to you, accompany this letter” there are 2 forms mentioned:
IMM5785
IMM5688
I have received only 2 copies of IMM5688 and not the other form

You have everything you need, you are good to go.

IMM5688 IS the CoPR, you need both copies. When you land they keep 1 and stamp and sign the other and give that back to you, DO NOT LOSE IT.

If you read the letter carefully, you will see that IMM5785 is 'an electronic counterfoil'. Basically they have loaded your information on the CIC computer ready for you to land, that is all that this is, do not worry about it, you will NOT have nor need a piece of paper called IMM5785.

I would be glad to add you to the tracking spreadsheet, but need a little more information first:

- Married or Common Law?
- Roughly where do you live now?
- Nationality of PA?
- Which Visa office have you been sent to?

But yes, you have certainly been waiting a long time. Can't say how much longer I am afraid, could be weeks or months yet.
