That's what I thought I'd read. Unfortunately my previous post in pidgin English did't convey that...

Update for spreadsheet - Sponsor Approved 1st Feb. Being sent to Ottawa for next stage (not sure if that is a good or bad thing!?)

Updated you both! Seems more are going to Ottawa these days. The processing times are pretty similar between London and Ottawa... the last 20 approvals have averaged 8.6 months for London and 9.2 months for Ottawa, so really not much in it. that's a difference of 0.6 months, so about, what, 3 weeks difference between the two right now? I wouldn't stress.

This post is long overdue. I have been in here reading up on stuff and getting tons of great information, big thanks to the spreadsheet and all you guys who help us in need!! amazing! Below is our timeline:

common-law application, stage 2 processing in ottawa:

- We received your application for permanent residence on April 7, 2015.
- We started processing your application on May 20, 2015.
- Medical results have been received.
- We sent you correspondence on October 27, 2015. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.

Additional info:
Sponsor was approved may 7th, 2015
In process 22 sep 2015 (i think, thats when we received our first email)

We sent in our requested docs within the timeline (we were given to 27th of nov) and now there hasn't been any sort of update or sign of life since then, hoping that's not weird.. ??? Def wish it was sent to London instead of ottawa.

One question: from what i have read, it seems visa exempt countries don't have to send their passports to london, does anyone know if that will still be the case after march 15 when the ETA visa is required to enter the country?

LVO has been terrible with COPRs lately, it's taken weeks and weeks after DM for quite a few people to get them. Have you tried sending an email to LVO, marking it as urgent?

The COPR will be delivered as registered mail, so you'll have to sign for it. We weren't home when mine was attempted to be delivered so Canada Post left a delivery notice, and I picked it up from the post office the next day.

I've just been on live chat with VFS in London.


I asked if I could get a PRTD in one day if I submit in person and was told no. The PRTD takes 5 working days to process, depending on the High Commission (whatever that means) as well as postal times too, I guess.

COPR arrived today at my house in England, only took 10 weeks and sent to the wrong address but hey! Got there in the end

My husbands got his copr but no request for passport scan/pics etc. He has a uk passport. Is there a reason some people get asked for their passport and others do not?

I got asked for photos (one of which was attached to my COPR when I received it) and passport copy. I didn't have to send my passport because because as a UK passport holder I'm visa exempt (for now).

Oh yes he sent in his passport copy and photo as part of the application submission but I thought the other poster was referring to being asked for this after receiving copr.
I've re-read the letter that came with the copr and it doesn't request anything further. The key items in the letter is that he needs to land before expiry date, he doesn't need a counterfoil (as visa exempt) and doesn't need to provide evidence of sufficient funds as family class sponsorship.
