It makes zero sense how they work things at the London Office. I would love to spend a day there and see how they choose which applications are to be worked on that day. Mine just seemed to sit for months on end without being worked on and i had zero red flags, so there's no reason it should have taken so long. It also puts a bitter taste in your mouth having to pay for another medical due to how long they took to process it.
Their working is quite simple, they collect all the applications and throw them in the air, whichever land on the desk of visa officer get approval. Rest of the applications which fall on the ground will eat the dust until another "draw" which probably happens in ages..........lols

Not sure if my last post got missed. For the spread sheet - Ecas changed to ' In Process ' as of Sep 17th.

No idea what this means as I only got Sponsor approval on Sep 1st. I wonder why all the recent applications are going straight to In processing. So confusing!

Sorry must have missed your message. Spreadsheet updated.

I'm worried its a new protocol where they put all applications in process right after sponsor approval is issued and then you wait about a year for COPR.

If this is the case then what does it mean for me as mine went in process on 7th September almost a year after I applies.

Mine went in proces after a year from applying and 9 weeks after ''in process'' I got ''decision made'' so it looks like it doesn't matter now they changed everybodys to ''in process'' but it doesn't change the processing time for 2014 applicants unfortunately

I'm only a few months in and i'm already fed up with how un organised the whole situation is. They should just put out a bullentin clearing up what it actually means. Going into process some time down the line would have atleast indicated that my application was coming to an end. Now I will have no idea.

I've noticed a few other countries have been experiencing the same thing which makes me think that it is a new protocol.

Sorry you've had to wait for so long. Hopefully yours has actually gone into propper processing and is being looked at!

Our Quebec Selection Certificate Approval has been received on Sept 12th,2015. and the ministry has sent the decision to CIC , but we haven't got any intimation from CIC about it. my husband is Quebec citizen

whats next ......

I sent an enquiry to London as to why my SA approval still hasn't changed in Ecas. Whilst I was at it I also asked about this new ' in processing' protocol. They replied today and they actually answered me. Unfortuently, it's just like we all thought. Nothing to get excited over, they aren't suddenly looking at 3 month old applications. It literally just means that they have recieved it. Not that it's been assigned am officer, not that they have opened my application.

Official reply below

With regards to your application status in ECAS indicating it is in process, this means that your application has been transferred the visa office that will be processing your application. In your case, this is the London, UK office. However, your application has not yet entered active processing (been assigned to an officer) at the London visa office. Applications are processed in the ordered they were received at our Case Processing Centre – Mississauga. We are currently processing applications that were received at CPC-Mississauga in December 2014/January 2015. Once applications are assigned to an officer, our aim is to finalise the application within 8-12 months. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide you with an estimated time as to when your application may be assigned to an officer.

The fact it could take 8 - 12 months after they assign an officer is worrying. If they are working on Dec/ January then they are running at around 8-9 months before they give the file to an officer to add to their pile of applications to look at. From what they are saying it could take another 8-12 months for for them to actually look at it and make a decision! Urgh. Hopefully the officers start speeding up how long it takes them to open and finish a case.

Mine changed to in process today too. They added some updated lines on my sponsorship portion of my ecas for a second time in 1 week and my permanent residence part reads in process now

Happy to report I logged in this morning with sleep still in my eyes and coffee in my hand as I do each morning and we have gone into process ! Glad to see a change ... Dtkb1977 on speadsheet

An update for the spreadsheet - SA given over the 'phone today :D :D ;D

I'll let you know asap Andrew. Haven't spoken to my hubby yet, he sent me a text to let me know, so not sure what else they told him.

Thanks, it will be London or Ottawa so I'll put it as London for now.

d_jheckford and widnesPR spreadsheet updated.

Thanks for posting that Brit-in-Alberta.

I think their response is BS though regarding working on applications received in December 2014-January 2015.

Honestly at this point I feel numb about it, indifferent to it all.

I filed a week month after you and I feel the same. You'd think if they had started on Dec/Jan applications they'd have started to finish the majority of November applications. Leaves you unsure as to when you'll actually get DM :/ Best of luck to you
