Hi all,

Hereby an update for the spreadsheet.

We got questions to our application Today from Ottawa. They asked for additional proof of intent to return.

Thanks for the hard work put into this!

Cheers!

Updated, thanks!

I think your right there. :(

It makes me very frustrated. I have a colleague at work who received an Express Entry PR in less than 3 months. I'm so jealous.

Nothing I can do but wait and hope. I already did enough chasing/escalation... just praying that my luck turns I'm one of those people who is in process for about 6 weeks, which seems 'typical'. Fingers crossed for an update soon!

I hope all our luck changes soon. I am fed up of not being with my Husband. One of the other girls here has been in process since March ... Mine is still the same Application received. :(

I tend to benchmark myself against aniabella who looks like the slowest 'straightfoward' application so far (e.g. no follow-up requests). 448 days is the target to beat... I'm at 442. Game on!!!

The whole thing is just crazy, we must have the slowest processing of all the countries now with low security checks on applicants. Their whole "thing" about keeping families together is just complete rubbish. I'm now in Canada and still can't work, can't even own and drive a car as they wont let me swap my licence until I get my visa.

I'm feeling really low about the whole thing today, reading that I am the not the only one feeling this way really helps. Happy to read about others getting progress, but very gut wrenching when they applied in 2015. I have my fingers crossed for all of us from 2014 via London, feeling sick that our applications didn't get kept in Canada though.. oh well, chin up and try to count the good things in life I guess.

Manila is moving pretty fast. I am hoping you guys hear back soon so that my turn comes next.

You can drive on your British licence for 12 months . I even called my insurance company to make sure my hubbie would be covered. He always does all the driving when hes here in Canada .

I just honestly never envisioned that I would have to wait this long :( we seem to have been completely forgotten about. There's just no indication about when we will hear anything. Could be another 6 months with the way things seem to be going. I've even considered just pulling my application and applying inland.

I know exactly how you are feeling. I am in Canada too, I do have a Sask license, so I can drive, but I'm sick and tired of not working and feeling like a burden. My Partner is so stressed about it all, I can't really talk to him about it anymore so this forum is a lifeline. When we applied the average was 6-8 months, even worst case we were looking at 11 months official processing. As a year is fast approaching with no communication or movement, it does feel like we have been forgotten, I agree. I remind myself that we are lucky we can apply for PR, but sometimes it doesn't help lift the mood.

I considered (briefly) pulling and going inland, especially when the pilot work permit project was announced, but all things considered it just wasn't the thing to do. Knowing my luck, the pilot work permit scheme would be pulled the moment I did this anyway! I take comfort in knowing it's not just my application that has come to a grinding halt. I just hope there is a spurt before the inevitable summer vacation slow down... although how you slow down something at that speed even more is a very good question! :o

Unfortunately it doesn't work for me in New Brunswick. I can't insure a car in NB without a Canadian licence and I can't get my Canadian licence until I get my COPR. I can drive a hire car, but that's the best I can do.

I do feel for those whose applications are taking longer than necessary to finalise. I am also expecting my wife's application to be finalised by LVO. Are you implying that there are slow "straightforward" applications and fast "straightforward" applications in terms of processing time? This could be due partly to the immigration officer handling those applications, in addition to other factors.

Oh Crap that's a hard pill to swallow.

I was also tempted to pull the outland and apply inland. Like you said it would be just our luck that they pulled the pilot program . I'm so optimistic ( sarcasm) that we have booked a trip in Dec for our wedding anniversary as i really don't think he will be landed by then . I also take comfort knowing its just not my application ,but i just want to see any movement from any of us and it will give me some hope.

Hubbie says he's going back out to by a bike. He sold it Dec 2014 thinking he would be here in Feb/March.

I don't want to renew my mobile phone contract just incase , i also need a new car,but i don't want to get into anything right now. Life is on hold. I am the sponsor.

Yeah, by straightforward I mean those case where there are no requests for additional info, interviews etc. All those will naturally slow things down and completely understandable.

But for the rest of us there is a level of variability - e.g. why was every other March application processed quicker than mine, with no obvious reason? Without any transparency over how they prioritize/schedule requests we'll never know.

Of course the spreadsheet is just a small sample so can only be considered a very rough guide. The rest is just cross your fingers and hope for the best.
