Also, Nr 1 & 3 are clear... but the updated information chart... I am the PA and my CL partner is the sponsor.... so do i put N/A in the Spouse or partner section as she is a Sponsor and not an applicant (I have no other dependants or children).

Finally, in the PDF letter (sent by email) they have got my postcode wrong. Do i need to flag this before i send off or can i call them to sort it?

Thanks again

Hi Everyone. My application was received in Mississauga on Nov 14th, 2014 and I received the Sponsor Approval on Feb 14th, 2015. It has been sent to London for processing and is currently at the status of "Received". I am Canadian living in the UK, and married to my British wife. Great to hear about everyone's progress. Feel free to add me to the spreadsheet.

Hi all,

I am a UK citizen currently a Bolivian resident. I need my police certificates from here translated from Spanish to English and an affidavit with them. My question is - does the affidavit need to be in English or is it ok in Spanish? I cannot find an English speaking Notary so only option seems to be in Spanish, do you think that is acceptable?

Thanks for your help!

Welcome! I have added you to the spreadsheet. Can I have your location? Nearest city is fine, I put London in for now.

Thanks,
Andrew

If you have not any other requests other than the one you had in June for missing/incomplete documents, or additional relationship proof then you are 99% certain to have been approved. Obviously there is always that 'what if' voice at the back of your head but try and stay positive, you are nearly there!

Spreadsheet updated.

To anyone who has already moved to Canada: do you get your PR card or do you have to apply for it after you land? I was planning on visiting Canada in a couple of weeks, but only for a week (I just got DM so may not even have my COPR letter by then).. and then moving permanently in May. Can you go to Canada as a visitor even if you have PR but it's not finalised and then activate it later? Or do they mail it to you once you land (in which case I won't get it before I leave again)

your initial pr card is processed for you. there is no need to apply for one. at landing, the CBSA officers sends the application to CIC for processing.

if you are visa exempt, all you need to travel to canada is your passport and copr. generally, the PR card is to satisfy the airline that you have the right to travel to canada without a visa. for visa exempt applicants, your passport does this for you. once you get to immigration at the airport, you can show your copr for entry, though technically your passport will also show your PR status once scanned.

If you require a visa to travel to canada, then you will either need your pr card or apply for a PR travel document.

Thanks for your reply - I'm visa exempt, but was wondering do I need my PR card if I want to travel outside canada after I have landed the first time? (I'm going for a week, then coming back and then moving for good in May) And where do I get the PR card like do they send it to my address in Canada automatically/how long does it take?

as stated above, no you do not need your pr card to travel. you can use just your passport and copr

the pr card is mailed to you to the address you gave the officer at your landing. it can take 4-6 weeks or longer.

When can me and my husband expect to hear from CIC the first time? Is there some type of confirmation that the application arrived there? Or will we not hear from them until sponsor approval?
