Hey Sonia,

Maybe you won't have to re-do the medicals... if they are ready to issue the visa and the medicals are about to expire, and they have been done less than 15 months ago ( which is your case I suppose), then London can ask for an extension. You won't know about it as it is an internal procedure, so you're not required to do anything yourself, but just wanted to let you know about it. The only way you will find out that your medicals have been extended is if they issue the visa and the "expiry date" is different than the "medicals + 12 months" that you would have had otherwise.
So - fingers crossed that's your case, and you'll hear from them soon!
Good luck,
Sweden

Have an interview for Feb 13, 2013!

Can anyone help me with what kind of questions they've asked? My husband is not a british national, but indian, living in the UK for the last 3 years on a student visa.

Thanks,
Sonia

Hi all non-uk applications!

Wanted to know whether background checks are done only after an interview is passed or not?

How long is the average wait after interview for canadian PR to be issued to my husband?

Thanks,

Unfortunately there is no answer to that. Interview is usually quite "late" in the process, so that's a good sign, but sometimes the background checks can take a while, so they may have started the background checks, and waiting for the results, and at the same time scheduling you for an interview... so there is not really a way to know how long it will take.
Good luck,
Sweden

The good news is that you're close to the end. I have no idea about background checks (I think Sweden knows more, as above!), but I know if your husband has lived in many different countries, it could take awhile. But, stay positive! I am thinking of you, and I will send good vibes next week for the interview!

I'll also keep my fingers crossed on the 13th for your husband! it will go well! but as blueboom says - it is good news, as it means that the process is soon coming to an end. So hang in there a little longer, and hopefully soon you can be together and not worry about immigration anymore!

Interview for my husband did not go well today,

They said the case is complicated due to:

Small marriage
I'm older than him and previously been married,

They said they will send us the decision via mail,

I'm tired,

Sonia

Hey Sonia,

sorry to hear that, it must be really hard on you and your husband, I hope that they will revisit their first impression. Don't loose hope, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and I'll wait to hear when you receive the mail.
Take care,
Sweden

So, we just got an email this morning saying that we need to submit a new police certificate and to allow 4 months for processing. The interviewer had stated yesterday that if they requested a new police certificate, then the interview went fine and was passed...

;D ;D ;D ;D

Yeahhhh!!! great to hear that, very happy for you! it's almost the end of the tunnel! :-) now it's mostly a matter of time, less stress as they do believe that your relationship is genuine, they would not ask for a renewed Police Check otherwise! Hopefully you'll be done faster than the 4 months stated!

Hi Srehal, congrats.. so happy for you. But at least you know something. On interview date they said they are satisfied. I have no news no confirmation. My police certificate for UK is going to expire on 22/02/2013. When was your expiry date?

do you think i should apply for new one.

Regards

Just a quick question to any non-visa exempt applicants or anyone who has any knowledge about such processes. Is there any time frame of how long the background check takes time on a regular basis (i.e. not in extreme cases)? I was looking at the table and it seems FK22, AfShe, Srehal, and chopsticks are all still waiting. Is any of your cases dealing with special circumstances? My case is quite straight forward but it seems to be dragging on and on for no reason. Thanks a lot for any useful information.
