I like that term you coined - "forced AOR" ;D

I had to bug them for my file number too (and consequently to know I'd been transferred to NYC! Oi vey...), and I didn't even get a confirming sentence like that. Just a "Your file number is F#/B# Your file is in progress, blah blah." I considered that much to be AOR - personally I think it's AOR once you're given your file number at the VO.

BTW, The address is 3000 HSBC Center, But google shows 1 HSBC CNTR, #3000 ??

That stadium has had so many name changes... Apparently it's now Coca-Cola Field, haha. Tickets for Bison's games are pretty cheap too, if it's something you want to do there.

More importantly (to me, anyway!), just out of that photo is HSBC Arena. Wrong time of year, I know, but... GO SABRES!

Has anyone here had to redo their medicals because it expired before PPR?

Lots of people have to redo medicals, but they do sometimes issue extensions, especially if the date is close. Officially, there is no extension possible, but exceptions are often made from what I gather.

There may be something different about the procedure for a redo process but I've never been clear on that. The DMP has to sent the medical to an office in Ottawa and then the office processing the application has to request it from there and I'm not sure of the whole mechanism. I vaguely recall some saying something about a different form, but I may be wrong about that.

Sent the application to my husband today (USPS Express). Hopefully Canada Post doesn't waste any time getting it to him. USPS said 3-5 days but it'll only take a few hours to get to the border so who knows. I'm so excited though! All my husband has to do is attach 2 papers, sign in a couple places, and ship it off to CPC-M. Hopefully that happens by next week (but given that I was hoping to have the application sent the first week of May, a few more weeks wouldn't surprise me).

Had a couple questions about the paperwork for requesting caips.It ask for requesters reference number and visa file number.Which numbers do you use for these?Also since Im In Canada I dont need the request form.So on the paperwork I put my name but do I put the address here In Canada that Im at and not my address In the states?And what form are people requesting mailed,emailed?

Well I received a letter today saying the initial analysis of my application is completed. They have determined that a personal interview with a visa officer is required and will take place at the Consulate in Buffalo.

Says that me and my wife has to attend (my wife is in Québec) I live in Long Island, NY, it also says that I have been placed in a queue awaiting interview and that they will send me a letter with the date and time I have to go with my wife.

Has anyone experience something similar? can someone share their views, is this good? bad? thanks folks!

Can the dates on the back of the photos be written on or do they actually have to be printed?????????????

I did my photos at Walgreens (in the US) and they did not have automatic settings to print and cut the right dimensions needed. However, I had taken a ruler and worked with the guy to get the photos printed the right size and then cut down to the exact dimensions. They stamped them with their store stamp, but there was not a date on the stamp, so he hand-wrote the date. All was fine.

I think it was around $10 (even though he had to print multiple copies to get the right size needed.) It took about 45 minutes or an hour, but it wasn't busy and the guy went above and beyond, so I asked to speak to his boss and then told her how great he was. It would have been much easier to go to a professional photographer that knows how to do that, but that also would have been more expensive.

I have her send me all the forms. I put everything in a big packet and just send it off to Missassauga, right? What about supporting documents and stuff? I have a stack of photos. Do I include it in this package? Or do I send the supporting documents (airline tickets, phone records, etc) to Buffalo?

I sent everything In the original packet to Missassauga,photos,phone records,letters from friends and family,airline tickets,the more proof you have the better from what I was told.

Include everything in your package to CIC-M, and I would make a photocopy of everything you send just in case as well.
Don't forget to send a copy of your receipt, and include your checklist with all the things you have sent in the package.
Double check, triple check! LOL
