Hi Sparkle! I just clicked on your spreadsheet and noticed you added me to it - thanks (by the way, my application was received May 4 - I think is what I added to my signature)! Sorry if I missed this explanation somewhere but I was wondering what the legend for the color coding is. Also, not to make your life more difficult with this (you know I appreciate having something like this available), but is there an easy way to mark which of us are dealing with Quebec and thus the CSQ (I think that since Quebec has it's own spin on the process and since this affects the timeline, it would be important). Hope all is well.
Hey ! You're added and I have updated your record. As far as CSQ is concerned, I've been trying to write that information in the notes, but I will try to figure out a way to have people from Quebec outstand somehow. That is a good suggestion :)
The color coding is really just as follows -
RED - Application Received
ORANGE - Sponsor approval / File Transfer
YELLOW - AOR (Email) with file number received
GREEN - PPR !!! :)

Guys, I would appreciate if you could give anymore suggestions you all have and also, if you could share your updates on this thread. It sometimes gets hard to track people down ;) and try to know whether they have any updates , for eg. if you post something in a different thread, I may not know.

Sparkle,

I would like for us to be added to your spreadsheet (which is very impressive!)
Application sent to Mississauga 4-28-11
Application received in Mississauga 4-29-11

Thanks!
Best of luck to everyone!
Added :)

Also, thank you guys for sharing the frustration and expressing that I am not alone in this. I do understand people are in much worse condition as I am, and I really hope and pray to god that Buffalo gets going and we have some good news to celebrate soon for everyone :)

Hi everyone,

I have a question.... I have been living with my husband in Canada for the past 4 months. I have been "visiting" from the US. I have planned a two week trip back to Tennessee in June. I will have been in Canada for 5 months by that time. I am coming right back to Canada after my trip, and plan to stay here until I get my PR.

What is the chance that I will be denied entry back into Canada? Will this look sketchy to the border control? I know it looks weird to them that I leave for 2 weeks a month before my 6 months is up and try to come right back. I wasn't sure if I need to apply for a visa extension or not. I've heard that when you cross back into the states, your visiting visa starts back over. To them, it probably looks like I am trying to live there though. Any advice would be appreciated!! I know it is a risk, but I have to go back for my mom's wedding!

I'm visiting Canada from UK, came late Dec, but we had our honeymoon in Jamaica in March. We checked with the call centre and they informed us the six months resets, obviously this can't happen permanently. We were honest with immigration when we came back to Canada and everything was fine.

Had my meds done today. Everything went very well. The DMP was extremely nice. I mentioned my concern about my son's PDD and his medical (he's scheduled for his meds in 2 weeks). The DMP told me the exam will go very quickly for him (since he's only 4) and that he's had many young patients with ASD. He knows how to engage them and be fast with the exam. He also told me he's sympathetic with our situation and the ASD should not even figure in, as long as he's healthy. He does not conduct any neurological tests for the CIC. Big relief for us!

Ok... just checked the account that SHOULD have forwarded me the AOR, but apparently it must have been seen as spam.

AOR Received by e-mail Apr 29.

For those that want to add the address to their "legitimate senders" list, it is: re-BFALO.IM-REG-ARCH@international.gc.ca

Ok, I know I'm a rookie. But the fact that a passport request came and a PPR is NOT imminent (not for months), kinda scares me and freaks me out. Whyyyyy would one have to wait so long when it looks like they are almost to the finish line?? Hope you don't have to wait much longer, chess101 :'(

Sometimes I believe our anxieties out way common sense, most of us when we began this process understood what the stated processing times were at the visa offices, yes, some people are getting processed sooner but the average time has been posted. If we know this, then why do we get so bent out of shape at the Visa officers who are probably doing the best they can to process applications in a timely manner

Well, at least reading that Im not the only one waiting on Buffalo to make something happen makes me feel a little at ease.

It would be much worse if EVERYONE in the thread was seeing action and us nothing...lol

I guess I wrote this post way too late last night because I was under the impression chess101's signature said s/he got his/her passport request, but that's not the case (am I right to assume that once you get the passport request, the PPR should come relatively soon after?). Still, it does make one think, what are they doing for so long after they've waived your interview?

Passport request -is- PPR, it's what it stands for: Passport Request. Once they request your passport, you're done. You just have to either go hand it in and get the visa in person, or mail it in and wait for the passport to come back to you via mail with the visa that way instead. And then you "land". That's it.

Thanks as always for the correction. That was pretty embarrassing. I guess I should not post anything unless I know what I'm talking about, huh. Although, as long as it helps clear it up for someone out there, right? Maybe I was thinking of COPR - Confirmation of Permanent Residence Form, or maybe it's just the inconsistency of putting PPR or writing out the acronym. It seems no matter how many times I study these acronyms if I find them in people's signatures (Leon's, for example), or elsewhere in posts, I still never get the hang of this alphabet soup. I still would say that it's pretty frustrating that your application seems to be going through the requisite stages at a fairly smooth pace, and then you just stop getting anything and it's like in limbo.

Haha, no -- don't worry about posting :p. The acronym is inconsistent and "PPR" gets tossed around here a lot without explanation. When I first started this whole process, I said something to someone along the lines of, "This might sound like a dumb question, but..." and immediately got corrected for it. "The only dumb question is the one you never ask."

And yes, limbo sucks...
