We didn't provide email on the application. After seeing many posts about email correspondence we clued in that if you get in touch via email you give them 'permission' to communicate with you that way -so we simply sent an email to (buffalo-im-enquiry @ international.gc.ca) stating file number, name, date of birth and a sentence saying that we authrorize CIC to communicate via email in addition to or in place of by post. Got an auto reply that it was received and now we've given them permission to email. Didn't hear anything again till the PPR.

Hey everyone!!!!!! I have great news today I check everyday to see if my status changes to "in process" well today it said it (YAY!!!) it said I have been in process since Aug. 24th so for a whole week I am so excited I am doing back flips (in my mind atleast hehehe)

This is great, I'd been thinking about doing it myself for a while. It's nice to see and not check 4+ different threads.
Mine isn't quite right though. I got my transfer 8/12 - but not yet in process with Buffalo.

Hi Buffalo Group--I've been following this thread for months, but I've never actually written in.

We just received word that our file has been transferred to the consulate in Detroit. I've heard of files being transferred to New York and Los Angeles, but I have not heard of any transferred to Detroit. Has that happened to any of you? I'm worried since both Giggles and Michelab (I think it is those two) have had some weird things happen: fingerprints record from the FBI lost and being asked for financial proof for sponsors, HUH?

So, I'm curious if anyone has had any interaction with Detroit. It looks like Buffalo heard how frustrated we were with the slowness, and said, "We'll take care of this problem and transfer all the files!"

My timeline is: submitted app to Mississauga on June 2, received June 3, approved for sponsorship on July 5, and "in process" since Aug. 20th.

Hi CeeGee, they tend to transfer files based on where you checked off your preferred site of interview. Remember that in the application? I thought it was odd seeing as most interviews are in Buffalo, but I guess that's the reason why they ask. Did you check off Detroit for that?

Here's to hoping it actually expedites your application, which is SUPPOSED to be the point of transfers!
