We would probably get news faster if they had competent people doing this stuff.. I mean, is it that hard to double check an application to make sure it is truly missing the document you are requesting! Something like this would get some people fired.. but not with bureaucracy!

some people are saying they dont offer this anymore. I mailed mines in the beginning of July.

Also before they changed the website they did ask to put the date you need it by on the envelope.

I emailed theFBI they said they do not provide expedited services?

What is the FBI e-mail address? I requested a new Clearence just in case.

My husband got a passport request in his email today!!! ;D Big sigh of relief. We are mailing his passport this afternoon. We hope to get it back as quickly as Lilac6.

If you have been able to live together for at least one year and can prove interedependency in the relationship (e.g. joint lease/property, joint accounts, etc., have photos of you together in the relationship and/or other documentation, and some letters from friends/family attesting to the relationship, I think you will be fine. Try not to stress too much..............I know we all do ;) but as long as the common law relationship is documented it should be ok.

I can't speak for others, but we are applying as married because common law was not an option for us and we had a failed conjugal partner application last year. Spousal or appeal the decision were our options. We chose spousal, which was shorter than the appeal process and common law was still not an option for us.

Hope this helps a bit. :)

Yes.. when I had mailed on these Id.. i had got a reply back saying that they'll try to do the needful.. hope it works for u...

After browsing here, does anyone know why CIC is losing or requests the police certificate again? The only thing I can think of is that recently the FBI CJIS division has changed the way their police certifictes look (since August 2009, I believe). Could that be throwing them off?

This is very discouraging news as I have waited 8 months to finally recieve mine (after 2 rejections) only to hear that CIC might ask for another one. I will definitely scan the one I get, though that seems to be a hit or miss too, huh.

We applied as Common Law and were approved under 4 months. I understand you can be worried, although I wasn't personally that stressed about it - somehow we were confident what we we were and what we provided was enough to prove our genuineness. But maybe it was this blind faith that had enough power in the fast processing that even we were a little surprised about ;D
Good luck to you and all the commoners!!
