I did that last spring. The instructions for expediting clearances for immigration purposes were somewhere on the FBI website (I didn't know about forums at that time!). If you put the need by date on the outside of the envelope it gets sorted into a different stack for processing. I've since been told by a forum member that they no longer offer expedited service (the document you receive has apparently changed as well...I got my prints back with a rubber stamp "No record found" on the back of one of the cards). Good to know it can still work!

Any news guys???
Waiting for PP request :'(

Oh man you guys are bumming me out with the expedited FBI thing. I waited months for that before sending in my ap. If I had been able to get it quicker, maybe I could be living in Canada with my husband right now :(

Waiting for 21st... as each day passes.. i m getting more n more tensed..

what if the IO is not convinced?.. what if the IO denies?.. what more docs can I take which would proove our genuine realationship?.. If I could jst rewind my life.. n show it to the IO then maybe they would understand.. :-[

I don't need to send in another FBI clearance. :) Got a reply to my husband's email on Friday.

They also mentioned I'd receiving additional correspondence in the near future about the next step! Anxiously awaiting any mail!

I was wondering if anyone knows approximately how long it takes Buffalo to receive medical results once they request them from the central agency where they are sent after you have your exam? Our letter dated June 25 stated that they were confirming that the exam was completed and they had requested the results............so we expect once they have that they will then request the passport.....

Thanks!

unfair still haven't received any news from Buffalo

well congratulation to anyone that had good news :)

Great news! How were you notified of this?
Sorry, just saw this now. We received a letter and also our status was changed to "in process" on ecas.

I'm so happy for you! Can you please tell me if it was just you landing or if you had kids too? Have you been married before? I am asking because I am so excited about your timeline and I have two kids and a previous marriage. Thanks for your letting us know how it went. It gives us who are waiting great encouragement.

So I just received a letter from CIC Buffalo requesting an original police certificate. We sent an original with our application in March. Frustrating. Our only saving grace is that they gave my husband 2 copies of finger prints in Decemebr when he had them done, so at least we don't have to wait on that part. We do have to wait for another FBI check , though. They gave us 90 days from the day of the letter which we received today July 14th and which is dated June 23rd. We moved from the States to Canada June 23rd and changed our address on the 24th, since we had not crossed the border until then and did not want to set off any alarms. I hope we can get an FBI clearance done and submitted to Buffalo within 70 days. Our request to the FBI will go out tomorrow. I know we sent an original with our application-that's what we waited for until we sent it! Frustrating.

Just check to see if there is a rule about how old the prints can be. I vaguely remember that there might be. As for the 90 day deadline, they just give a 90 day deadline for everything. Explain that you have applied for it and it's out of your control and they will more than likely be accommodating.

That seems to be happening a lot.. I wonder what their problem is! I'm tempted to go ahead and order a new set in case they want it, even though I sent my original as well..

some people are saying they dont offer this anymore. I mailed mines in the beginning of July.

Also before they changed the website they did ask to put the date you need it by on the envelope.

I emailed theFBI they said they do not provide expedited services?

They sent my husband mail requesting for an original FBI clearance too. We got it on the 7th and my husband sent them an email the same day. They replied on the 9th that it was an error and that he didn't need to send it, as they 'overlooked' the original that we included in our application.
