Thanks! It's been a long time coming. I wonder if anyone else on this thread had their files transferred to Seattle. I thought that was strange since Detroit is closer to me and that's the VO I requested. Is Detroit still doing the apps?

Mine is in Seattle, been there since June, gathering dust.

So I finally reached someone at cic office on the phone today after calling for like 10 times.. But the only thing that person on the phone can tell me is that my application is being processed in Ottawa ( which I already knew) and they can't give any timeframe or any other details :(..

Since the application is still in Ottawa but not LA , does that mean I'm still not even close to the end of the process? :( ...

Mine was transferred to Seattle. I don't remember what I'd requested, but it certainly wasn't Seattle, as I was living in Atlanta!

As far as I can tell, they don't generally follow the request. My FSW application was transferred to NYC, which isn't exactly convenient from Vancouver, although, oddly enough, I kept doing work in the same building as the Canadian Consulate in NYC. I'd requested Seattle.

You must have gotten through to the same person as I did (or we got hooked into the same voicemail). That's exactly what they told me too :(

So if it's in Ottawa it's still being worked on? Does it then get shipped off to another visa office for issuance (obviously i'm presuming all will be okay lol) of the ppr?

The story I keep hearing (and it complies with my experience) is that applications are being processed in Ottawa (CPP-O) and once all the processing is done they are sent to LA. I know that my application was completed on September 12 by Ottawa and the PPR came from LA on September 26.

Thats awesome computergeek thank you so much :-*. I will be calling them every other day to see if they can confirm where my file is :) Once they say LA i'll start the party (OK premature but after waiting 18 months from submission I feel it's justified :))

More than justified. 18 months is a long time to wait for a spousal family application. :(

Just got off the phone - the application is still in Ottawa, but by the end of the conversation myself and the lady I was talking to were in fits of laughter and she said that I could call her back anytime I wanted hahahahahaha!

She did confirm that everything had been recieved (medical results more importantly as nothing shows on Ecas to that effect) and that it was likely that I would get another request for medicals.

Which is not wicked awesome news, but she did confirm that everything right now is, or seems to be, in order and to unfortunately just hang on in there.

When we got the interview appointment, we had a family vacation planned in Florida. The appointment was 2 days AFTER our vacation was scheduled to end, so we had to fly the ENTIRE family (four of us!) from Florida to Seattle (nearly 7.5 hours). I don't want to tell you how much that costed us, plus hotel and everything else. We almost didn't make it b/c there were storms which caused a flight delay. We made it in the end. But wow, how inconvenient! What if we hadn't had the $$ to do all that??
