Hi GOGOGO,GOGOGO said:Hi Jenny parsely, there shouldn't be any problem for your husband to move back to Canada and you visit him as a visitor while your application continues to be processed through Buffalo. The only difficulty may be getting a visitor visa into Canada after your husband has moved back to Canada. Therefore, you may want to apply for one before his US job ends, and probably with an invitation from someone else in Canada other than your husband.
Congrats! I'm glad that your long wait is over... Cheers.pmary said:;D ;D finally I received my PPR .
When I applied for my visitor extension a few years ago while just wanting to spend more time with my then fiance (no pending imm application), I asked for and go 8 months. Just give them enough reason and you'll be fine (e.g. show relationship, ties, etc.).Kiri said:Okay, I'm applying for my extension of visitor status tomorrow and I'm looking at the forms.. Where it asks if I'm Never Married or Married and then if that person is a Canadian Citizen or PR, then the option of Widow, Divorced, Common Law -- if we are going to be Common Law by CIC application standards May 14th, but we're living as Common Law partners (marriage-like relationship) now, just waiting on the official date... would we select Married and "Common Law" for our application?
Just curious. Also curious if this applies to other things like applications for other stuff, etc.
Also... applying in May, what is the best amount of time to request an extension for? What's the longest I can actually reasonably request for? I'm applying March 28, 2012 for extension on a visa that expires April 30, 2012 on grounds of that I'm waiting on FBI and have a medical appointment to apply for PR May 14, 2012 and wish to stay during my application process. I just don't know how long to ask for my extension for..
Okay, so it's not far fetched for me to ask until next May giving adequate time to get through PPR. Great. Now all I need to find out is the relationship marking on the application.g-man said:When I applied for my visitor extension a few years ago while just wanting to spend more time with my then fiance (no pending imm application), I asked for and go 8 months. I agree with this except I asked for a 6 month extension Sept 2011 (couple weeks before PPR) and instead got a one year visitor record.g-man said:When I applied for my visitor extension a few years ago while just wanting to spend more time with my then fiance (no pending imm application), I asked for and go 8 months.
