Congrats. When you say you haven't been around in a bit, when did you send the application to Mississauga?

Hello everyone,

I have not been around in a bit because life has been crazy with changes, positive changes. i up and moved from New York state to be with my wife and have been waiting out the process. My wife and I opened up our email a week or so ago and we were surprised to see this;

Dear Applicant:

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada. We are now in a position to finalise your application.

Within the next 30 days please submit either your passport(s) or a photocopy of the bio-data page of your passport(s) as well as any page containing an amendment of the: name, passport number or expiry date, or any page showing the bio-data of dependants.

We also require two (2) recent photographs of yourself and each accompanying family member.

The issuance of your Confirmation of Permanent Resident document(s) is time sensitive so it is important for you to submit your passport(s) or passport photocopies as requested. You must submit these items by mail. We recommend that you submit a prepaid envelope for the return of your Confirmation of Permanent Resident document(s) and passport(s). Please refer to our mailing instructions for further information.

Please note, though your passport(s) or passport photocopies are due at our office within the next 30 days, you must check your documents upon receipt. There will be a validity date indicated, and you must become a Permanent Resident on or before that date. The validity of the Confirmation of Permanent Resident documents cannot be extended. If you are not prepared to live permanently in Canada immediately after landing, please consult the website regarding residency requirements in order to ensure that you retain your status in Canada.

Well we sent it at the end of July - it was sent back, something was missing, and then returned August 8th. They emailed and it says it was processed at the end of December. We sent the passport the day after the request. So I guess we will see what happens.

Cheers!!

Are we talking about 2011? It was transferred to Buffalo in the late summer of just last year and you already have PPR?

Wow!

Seems very strange how we're only a week apart, and I'm waiting to receive my COPR, while your file hasn't even been touched yet. It's as though there's no rhyme or reason at all to Buffalo.

I got that same one last year, its B.S. , >:(
Yup ~~~I know that's absolutely B.S~~~ lol
But what can do we...except waiting for the result...:'(
and sad thing is I have to apply for an extension like in a week or two.

I'm still sitting around, waiting, working two jobs (so is my wife) to support two countries.

Doesn't matter that I have a contract job waiting for me in BC as soon as I can land.

I think I will get round #2 of GCMS notes, the cheap way this time.

Yes that is correct, 2011. The processing times said it would be longer, so if that is what I get early, I will consider it a great Christmas present.

So today we got an envelope in the mail from Detroit, Michigan. It was a Confirmation of Permanent Residence for my partner. I cannot even process that that just happened. We thought we were still going to get a PPR letter or email, so this is just crazy and amazing! I can't believe we really did it. :o :D :o :D

...I seriously can't process this.

Yeah. It does seem that way. :(
