How many PPRs are we up to this week? 5 or something? Damn, this is a good week.

Might be a bit of pessimistic speculation, but I predict things will slow down again after the long weekend. It always seems like they wake up and get busy the week before a vacation... then everything stalls again. :-X

My ECAS did not update right away either.

indeed!

not reliable for *outland* applications. No idea how it works for inlanders ;)

My ECAS is still sitting at "Application received" and I got my PPR on Tuesday. Now I know why they tell us that ECAS is not a reliable means of communication for inland applications. Definitely put your faith in direct communication from your visa office over the ECAS!

hmn, we shall see :) i tend to agree, but my take on it is holiday weekend or not (didn't someone get a PPR on labor day?), they kind of do the "two steps forward, one step back" thing with us vis a vis PPRs. ah well, i guess one has to lose momentum at some point ::)

^ That's the wife, who wanted to post. :P

Yayyy, of course you should celebrate! Lol, maybe you're hesitant because you're following a post in which we question CIC's competence, is that it? :P

Don't worry about it being "application received." Some people get to "in process" before PPR....some but not all, and the most important thing to pay attention to is this communication from the visa office.

How many PPRs are we up to this week? 5 or something? Damn, this is a good week.
Yay! Thanks everyone for the responses, btw ddobro2 put in the topic our timeline for you to put on the spreadsheet several pages back now wherever last week was. :D but here's the updated version then:

App Sent: May 27th 2011
App Received: May 30th 2011
In Process: July 5th 2011
Sponsorship Approval Date/Xfer to Buffalo: July 5th 2011
Buffalo received applicant's part (we didn't figure out if this = AOR): July 14th 2011
PPR: October 6th 2011 (day email was received)

I totally didn't expect this either, my wife just gave birth and most of my day was being occupied by checking on our little girl in the NICU and checking on wife who had to have an emergency c-section following a pretty quick and crappy turn during later stages of labour. I had just paid for wi-fi at the hospital and went to do my obligatory bedtime CIC app check to see if there were any updates, use e-mails I sent to myself with the info to copy/paste both mine and my Canadian wife's ID numbers i.e. looking at both of the separate numbers we were given to see if they might say anything different, but the email inbox had that email from Buffalo there which, being completely dead tired (like "almost nodding off while typing and nearly dropping the laptop out of my lap" tired), I almost had mistaken for spam until I read it again and remembered 99% of spam doesn't include my first/last/middle name and my application number in the subject part.

Wow! Congrats! And all the best to you wife and newborn. Hope all is well - Very exciting day indeed.

Any PPRs for Aprilers?

In regards to ecas, I landed nearly a month ago and mine still says app received. Special.

What a day!! Congrats on the little one AND PPR!

Have you notified CIC of your change in family composition? I hate to rain on your parade, but I don't know if they'll let you land with the new baby if you haven't declared it. They state that you must notify them of any changes like that before your visa can be issued. :( I would call and ask.

Thank you for the well wishes, sufficed to say I found myself going through a wide range of emotions last night, and most of the crying I was doing was of the happy/relieved type.

We intend on notifying when we leave the hospital with baby. She was born very late Tuesday night, we're gonna be here for a couple days more though, since mom had a c-section and baby has needed to be in the NICU.

I just read something about if you're in Canada, sending your passport request documents goes to Fort Erie to get couriered? If this is true I wonder if we could just drive there as it isn't far at all.

I handed in the application of august 18th and still waiting for the first stage which is the sponsor approval. When we applied my wife was green card holder now she is a citizen and has her US passport. Should we call them to change things or what should we do?

Another PPR - my wife got hers yesterday afternoon, by e-mail, from NYC. A bit unusual since it seems like they've been doing snail mail for everybody else. When they asked for our CSQ I thought they were starting the process, but I guess they were already done!

What has their visa turnaround time been like for people? It's inconvenient that we won't be able to pick it up in person...

Yayyyyyyyy
