Re renewing passport, I'm not sure yet (still researching) and I hope I don't need to. It's tricky because it will take 4-8 weeks which means I'm pushing too close to the 60 days submission deadline.

Congratulations!!! Hopefully everyone gets good news this week! Does that mean you have to get a new passport so that it is valid for one year?

If you can spare the extra cash, the expedited renewal is closer to two weeks total turnaround time. That does include paying for overnight service in both directions.

It's not very clear if the requirements apply to you as well.. but it seems safer to renew your passport the fast way if you can, as DCGelfling suggests it )...

Think I'm lucky today... I just got my PPR email. Hope this luck extends to all of you!

Now I have a question regarding sending in the photocopy of my passport (from visa exempt country), do I need to renew my passport first?

1) My passport will expire in mid Oct 2012;
2) I don't have any blank page on my passport.

The email says:

The processing of your application appears complete at this time. Please submit the required passport(s) within 60 days as the issuance of your visa is time sensitive.
...
If you and/or your dependent(s) hold a passport from a visa exempt country, this office will NOT require your/their passport(s) to finalize this case. Only submit the passport(s) for those persons who require a visa for Canada. For all others, submit a clear photocopy of EVERY page in their valid passport

Passport Requirements
! Your original passport (must be valid for at least one year) and the original passports for each of your accompanying dependants.
! Please ensure that there is at least one blank page, other than the last page, in each of the passports. A parent and one or more children may share the same passport. If there is more than one child included in the parent's passport, ensure there is one blank page for each child.
! The immigrant visa placed in your passport shows an expiry date. You may enter Canada anytime before the expiry date shown on the visa; this date cannot be extended. If you fail to enter Canada before this date, you will be required to re-apply and submit new application and processing fee.

Congrats GOGOGO! Wonderful news!!!!

Just noticed the tracking for our return package has been activated tonight! COPR is on it's way... My husband mailed it in from California (to Buffalo) on Friday March 23...was received Monday March 26... activated tonight at 8:00 pm and it says it's in Buffalo, NY...
