Has anyone tried calling the immigration phone number found here? http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/missions/buffalo.asp
Immigration Tel.: (716) 858-9501

Do you just get a recording?

Another question. Is it worth it to call your local MP to find out what's going on? Or does that seem to make things worse? It almost seems as though if you contact your MP or complain on a forum, your application keeps getting pushed down.

One question to anyone who has had this experience on GSMC notes -- there is due dates for security , criminality and eligibility assessments , does that mean the latest the application or these requirements will be processed is that due date?

thank you
Due date doesn't actually mean something...IMO...in my case I don't even have a bring forward date or due date....contacted mp, and they said maybe August 2012...lol

Dear applicant :

This concerns your application for permanent residence in Canada.

We require valid passport(s) for you, and any accompanying family members, before we can issue your permanent resident visa(s). You must provide your passport(s) to our office within 30 days of the date of this message. Failure to do so could result in significant processing delays or the closure of your file.

Note: As of December 1, 2011, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) will no longer issue a Permanent Resident counterfoil to applicants from visa exempt countries. All applicants approved for permanent residence, whether they hold a passport from a visa exempt country or from a country requiring a visa for Canada, will continue to be issued a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) document.

Please consult our website for a complete list of visa exempt countries: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas.asp#exemptions

If you and/or your dependent(s) hold a passport from a visa exempt country, this office will NOT require your/their passport(s) to finalize your application. You must submit the passport(s) for those persons who require a visa for Canada. Citizens of a visa-exempt country may submit a clear photocopy of every page in their valid passport in lieu of the original passport.
Pursuant to subsection 11(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act a visa shall be issued if, following an examination, an officer is satisfied that the foreign national is not inadmissible and meets the requirements of this Act.

On receipt of your passport(s), your permanent resident visa(s) will be valid until 2012/NOV/09 or your passport expiration date, whichever is shorter. Please note that this is the date on or before which you and all of your accompanying dependents must present your immigrant visa(s) to a Canadian immigration officer at a port-of-entry into Canada to become a permanent resident.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The issuance of your permanent resident visa is based upon the information you provided to us prior to this date, concerning your marital status (and that of your family members, if any), the composition of your family and the money you will transfer to Canada. If any of this information has changed or you know that it will change prior to using your permanent resident visa, you must inform this office immediately. Examples of changes in family composition include a new spouse or a new child. You should also inform this office if you or an accompanying family member is pregnant. Failure to inform this office of such changes could affect your admissibility to Canada and result in the refusal of your admission to Canada or in your removal from Canada after becoming a permanent resident.

PASSPORT REQUIREMENTS:

We require an original VALID passport for yourself and every accompanying family member.
Passports for all family members must be submitted together.
There must be at least one blank page in each passport. If there are children included in your passport, there must be blank pages for their visas as well.
The immigrant visa placed in your passport has an expiry date. You may enter Canada any time before the expiry date. The expiry date cannot be extended. If you fail to enter Canada before this date and still wish to immigrate to Canada, you must reapply by submitting a new application and paying a new processing fee. There is no guarantee a future application would be successful.

Please note: Immigrant visas cannot be placed in Diplomatic, Official or Military passports.

YOU HAVE TWO OPTIONS FOR THE SUBMISSION OF YOUR PASSPORTS:

OPTION A: Bring your passports in person

Passports can be brought to our office: 1501 4th Avenue, Suite 600, Seattle, WA 98101
Passports may be brought in on Thursdays between the hours of 8:00 am and 11:00 am. Bring this message when you come in and take a number for General Enquiries. You will be called to a window to submit your passports. PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT SAME DAY SERVICE IS NOT AVAILABLE.
Your passports and visas will be ready to be picked up between 2:30 pm and 3:00 pm the FOLLOWING Thursday. If you do not come to the Consulate to pick up your passports, they will be returned to you by regular mail unless you arrange to have them returned to you using one of the premium services described below.
You must bring your passports in person. A representative may not submit passports on your behalf.
For security reasons, the Canadian Consulate General does not allow the entry of recording or transmitting devices into the immigration waiting room or interview areas. This includes all types of cameras, recorders, and cellular telephones.

OPTION B: Submit your passports by mail or courier

The security of your passports is important to us. We strongly encourage you to use United States Postal Service Express or Priority Mail (if in the USA) or Federal Express Courier Service (if in Canada). This allows you to track the delivery and return of your documents.
Our office is not liable for passports that are lost or stolen in the mail.
Send your original passports with a printout of this message.

RETURN OF YOUR PASSPORTS

We will return passports to addresses in the USA or Canada only. If your current mailing address is not in the USA or Canada, you must bring your passports to our office in person.
Once we receive your passports, they will be mailed back to you within four weeks from the date we receive them.
Passports sent to us by mail will be returned to you by United States Postal Service regular mail unless you use one of the premium services described below.
Passports sent to us by mail cannot be picked up in person.

ADDRESSES IN THE USA

If your address is in the USA, the Consulate will return your passports by U.S. Postal Service First Class Mail. Please provide a pre-paid, self-addressed return envelope (the envelope must measure at least 8.5 x 11 inches) with the correct postage affixed. We will not use registered mail, certified mail or return postage coupons.
If First Class Mail is not acceptable, please provide a pre-paid, self-addressed United States Postal Service Express or Priority Mail envelope (the envelope must measure at least 8.5 x 11 inches) with the correct postage affixed. Enter a daytime telephone number on the mailing label above the recipient address. Make a note of the tracking number.

Please note: We will not return passports to US addresses using ANY commercial courier service.

ADDRESSES IN CANADA

If your address is in Canada, the Consulate will return your passports via United States Postal Service First Class Mail. Please enclose a self-addressed return envelope (the envelope must measure at least 8.5 x 11 inches).
If First Class Mail is not acceptable, please provide a completed Federal Express air waybill and a return Federal Express courier envelope (the envelope must measure at least 8.5 x 11 inches). You must fill in your name and address as both the sender and the recipient on the waybill. The Consulate’s address must not appear on the waybill. You must enter your valid Federal Express account number in the appropriate billing information box. Charges must be billed to recipient, not to sender. Payments by cheque or credit card are not accepted. Make a note of the tracking number.
The Consulate will not be responsible for filling out courier labels or verifying shipping charges; these are the sole responsibility of the applicant. If you do not adhere to the above instructions, then your passport(s) will be returned via First Class Mail.

Please note: We will not return passports to Canadian addresses using any commercial courier service other than Federal Express. If you send a waybill for UPS or DHL, then your passport(s) will be returned via First Class Mail.

We look forward to your early compliance with this request.

Does there seem to be a consistent time that they send out ppr requests? Like in the morning? Or is it throughout the day?
