Right, it says 70 days (working on applications received on August 15, 2011), which means applications they received August 15th or earlier should have been processed already. If you haven't heard anything, be patient and wait a bit longer. I believe it will come via email (the sponsor's), but there's a chance they could snail mail it to the sponsor too. CPCM would not ask for a "verification." As long as the undertaking portion of your file is complete, they will approve the sponsorship and send it to Buffalo for the PR part. If there is something missing in the rest of the file, it would be Buffalo that you hear from.

Just a note, neither I nor my hubby (my sponsor) have ever received anything via email from Immigration Canada. I don't know why they do for some and no others, but basically I just wanted to throw that out there so you don't freak that you haven't seen anything in your inbox.

I have to say I've only been reading this thread for the past two weeks, but it's so crazy how different everyone's experience seems to be. It seems like CIC can't even be bothered to update the e-cas uniformly (for example, people getting "meds received, interview waived" but no "in process" status, yet then some of us only having "in process" even though we know through other means that they've received our meds and waived our interviews), let alone have a uniform way of treating files. I realize everyone's file is different, but I am really getting the impression that it's more who is processing your file on what day than anything.

Got my PPR today!!! For those who do not have it yet - I understand what you are going through but hang in there it will happen for you. I believe in good karma. Continue to be positive and be nice to all and good things will come. Good luck to all!

Congrats!!! :) :) :) Do you mind divulging what month your file was received in Mississauga?

Congrats....and regarding the rest of what you wrote, I just took in a cat from the pound to foster, so according to your theory, my karmic PPR should be getting here any day now, right? ;)

before the expiry date that's found on your visa, which is usually at least one year from the time you completed your medical exam

What if your medicals are expired?

I'll let you know when the passport gets back in a week or two. :)

In that case it might be the time your passport expires. Are you not able to land for some time once you get the visa?

I have a *feeling* it is 30 days after visa issuance. But I will let you know for sure once ours comes back.

Did you send your passport off already, Morena?

One certainly gets the feeling that everything that happens in this process is on CIC's timeframe, not one's own, huh? :-\

By "Her Majesty's Prerogative" is the term I think we're looking for here. :)
