Well-I heard back from my MP today- good news!

Yesterday she emailed and wrote this:
Everything is fine. The bring forward date is Nov 21st, they will soon thereafter ask for his passport to enter visa. Won't be long now. Will call you in the morning with details.

So this morning-I missed her call as I was at work. But what she said in the voicemail she left is that medicals were extended until oct 12th 2012, background checks are done and there has been a positive decision made on our application!!!!! Eeeek!

I am SO happy I could dance! In fact I have been dancing, and singing all day :D

Just wondering though....meds were set to expire oct 12th, we got a meds recived date as oct 14th. So...if your bf date is set as nov 21st wouldn't that have been an old date? what I read is that bf dates are 45 to 90 days....so, my latest action on my file would reset that date right? So....could the bf date be obsolete now sice my MP has info that we had a positive decision made? Wouldn't I be expecting PPR any day now-rather than waiting for nov 21st for them to see the bf date? Hmmm any input?

Yep, if you do not pay the RPRF fee, they will eventually ask you to pay it so they can finalize the processing, when they are ready.

Does anyone know if Buffalo will send you notification if final payment is required before finalizing the PR application?

Thanks,

I've heard of outlanders also considering it, but don't know offhand of anyone who has definitely done it. I think it is hard even for inlanders to call in and make an appointment (this is the CIC Call Centre we're talking about), and when they do I don't know that it's a date in the very near future. Is the problem that you're pretty far from the border?

Sorry to hear about the frustrations that have come up lately. If only there was a more direct channel of communication with CIC, I think many of these issues could be solved very quickly. But alas, this isn't the case.

Which is why I'm bringing yet another question to the forum: I've heard that there is an option for applicants already in the country to land at a CIC office, rather than leaving and crossing at the border. Since this is the case with my partner and I, just wondering if any one on the forum has done this or has info on how to do it (e.g. I've heard you need to make an appointment). Any info appreciated. Thanks, as always.

I'm happy for you..Your MP most be really active compare to some. Anyways its just couple weeks from now. Wishing they should just start sending the damn PPR/PRV instead of waiting or keeping people on hold until there bring forward date. The waiting is not getting easy anymore!!
October started very good as we need more PPR/PRV before the end of this month!!

So out of curiosity - if you heard that your file has a bring forward date does that mean they won't look at the file again until that date?

Our MP basically said the same thing: we have a positive assessment, the medicals were approved, the background checks were fine, etc. They were just waiting on our RPRF to come through. We had a bring forward date of November 25th, so our file won't be looked at again until then? Even if the RPRF receipt is received prior to that?

So what the MP was saying...your meds have been extended for a year. If there has been a positive decision on your file, then yes you should be expecting your PPR any day now...so close...so happy to hear this news Trish!!! Its been a long and treacherous road but you are finally at the end.

To all those that have received PPR...Congrats...

As for those who did not pay RFPF at the start you could be looking at at 2 to 3 month delay while the process it, even sending in the proof.

Best of Luck to all those waiting!!!

Hello, I need some help with this question... is it ok to pay the RPRF online and send the proof afterwards, if you are applying through Buffalo? I have heard some conflicting things and I want to be sure.

That is not a problem...you pay it online to Mississauga, then its recommended to fax, mail both Mississauga and Buffalo the receipt that you print out....and make sure to keep a copy for yourself to verify that you paid incase something gets screwed up,...

Yes, it is ok, but it will likely delay processing if they have to request it and wait for it. I think it is best to pay it upfront and submit the proof with the whole application, if you can.

Ok, well I have already received a letter asking for it about 2 weeks ago. I'm going to pay today and send the proof via mail and fax.

They said they received my application on July 14th. I received the approval letter asking for the RPRF, it was dated September 29.

That is a pretty nice timeline. Good idea to follow stumpedmom's advice re mailing and faxing both places.

My understanding is that if you can reach a border it is much quicker. Even an inlander asked recently about their landing appointment being 5 months down the road after a 2 year process....You would most likely be looking months to years away....if the border crossing is totally out of the question then you have not much of a choice, but if the border is an option I would do what I could to run to the border. You do not have to stay in the US for a long period of time, you can actually just tell the officer on the US side that you want to flagpole, turn around right away....
