I've found that it's kinda pointless to look for logic or reason in CIC's actions! lol

my guess?? they split up the stack of applications for the next week, and by chance yours landed on top of one IO's file. But that's just how I kind of imagine CIC to function....

lol that is true!!! i guess i did get lucky OR! they got sick of my emails and just changed my status hahaah just kidding ofcourse!

The paper I recieved said I had roughly 6 weeks to send in my passport for the visa or pick it up in person. If I remember correctly, if you send it in it takes 3-4 weeks from the time they recieve it to issue the visa. The paper will have specific info on how to send it. The time you have to land depends on when your medical expires (The medical is good for one year). In my case it was Feb 22, 2011.
I recieved the PPR via email. Here are some links they included:

I chose Seattle as my interview place, but Buffalo does all the visa stuff.

thanks for all the info and congrats once again!!

Please refer to the above file number on all correspondence.

Your application is in process. We are unable to provide a date when the processing of your application will be complete.

e-Cas is for applications processing within Canada only.

Immigration cases being processed in Visa offices outside Canada use a system different from that used to process similar applications in Canada. As a result, the e-Client Application Status (e-CAS) does not reflect the status of cases being processed in Buffalo.

Do not use the CIC e-Cas on-line change of address system. Your new address will not be downloaded to your file in Buffalo.

.....................
Is this true?? Then why did my status change on E-cas CIC

so how do you change the address, if you're processing in Buffalo?? Wait until you get the B-filenumber and send them a letter with the barcode thingy attached??

Although, maybe if they don't guarantee to update e-CAS, that explains why people going through B'lo have such trouble logging in and/or seeing updates, but does not mean that B'lo is that slow....maybe they are processing just not updating.

Thanks Nej.
I was curious about this because I may be away when the PPR arrives and wanted to make sure they give you enough time for submission.

Well, I would definitely wait until I get the File #.
But if I had to move before I got the AOR, I would email them with my name, DOB, the Client ID # (on the sponsorship application) so that they could identify you. I would probably send a letter as well. ...don't know what else one could do

i didnt need to change my address i received this email after i asked them the status of my application.

i emailed them today asking if i will receive a letter for reciept of my application and to confirm they are processing it in Buffalo (i did get an AOR for the first stage approval but on this forum i heard u get another letter from buffalo confirming they recvd ur application)

They said they are processing my app right now

also they gave me a file number starting with a B# so basically like mentioned above i would wait for the file and email or fax them since you cant call them :)

My husband changed his address through email. His address on ECAS changed about a week later.

thanks all - we submitted our app was received at CPC-M July 19th, so I am pretty sure I will have the file in process in b'lo by the time we leave our current address - we aren't planning on leaving until October 1st or so. I will email them beforehand, and it will just have to do. We'll have our mail forwarded, as well, that's no problem, but we are driving from Florida to Vancouver, so I wouldn't want to miss any important paperwork in the meantime, you know???

But, I'll email once our file transfers. *that* should definitely happen before October 1st, if nothing else...

I had moved while my app was in process as well. I emailed Buffalo with the address change. The only reply I got was the automated one that said that they recieved the email. I didn't recieve anything else until they were ready to issue the visa. Once you email them, they should correspond with you via email with any updates.
