This is good news of course!
Tough.. I got a letter sent to my home address back in Holland (family scanned/emailed it to me) saying my sponsor has to pay The Right Of Permanent Resicence fee (Thats the 490 per applicant right? I paid all of it all ready tough.. Or does it neccessarily have to be the sponsor paying?)
And it says that I have to submit my original valid passport with it ??? (and send it to Mississauga)
Then I cant stay in Canada right? (without my passport) Or is it ok, since me and my passport will both be within Canada?

1) Yes, the RPRF is the $490. If you've already paid it, you don't have to again. It would be wise to, perhaps, send them a copy of your receipt as proof that you already paid it though.

2) You may want to check with other applicants from Berlin (or just in a separate thread of your own) about where to send your passport. It's not likely that you have to mail your passport to Mississauga. What's more likely is that they want you to pay the $490 (if you haven't already) to Mississauga, while mailing the proof of that + your passport to Berlin. Mississauga isn't the office that issues PR visas.

3) No matter where you mail your passport to, you do not have to leave Canada just because you don't have your passport on you. As long as you have valid status in Canada, you can stay while you wait for them to return your passport to you with your PR visa attached. Just make sure that if they are going to mail it to your address in Holland, you have someone reliable courier it to you ASAP. It's normal procedure to mail off your passport to your visa office while you are in Canada; plenty of people do this. Just don't try to leave until you have it back in your hands, since you'll need it for traveling.

-Thank you!!

Yes it was a very confusing letter. They said: "Please have your sponsor pay the Right of Permanent Residence Fee. Please submit your original passport and the completed form letter with a copy of the receipt of the payment to CPC Mississauga by 26-03-2011 at the latest"
But then under that they stated: "Address your correspondence to the Embassy at the address indicated below" (which is Berlin) - so your right :)

I just hope they will send it back soon! Since my return ticket is in the beginning of May..! (thats when my 6 months visitor visa expires)

tnx guys.... ;D can't wait to receive my visa and be with my hubby so soon..for those who are still waiting keep the faith alive..GOD IS GOOD=) good luck guys..i'll be praying for you all ;)

Hi, I am Harald, and I am an applicant...
"HI Harald..."

Ok more seriously tho, seen the September thread, and thought I'd throw in an Ocotber one!

Applications not yet been sent, but we are in the final stages, just waiting for the gold-danged FBI paper, and some other stuff like rental agreement an so on.

MandiF and Kelkel and others? please join!

I am sure you all remember this ....that was awhile ago....and look how things have turned out so far for most. I remember logging in almost everyday to see if the sponsorship had been approved or not...extremely nervous and today, although i am still anxious as to when we will be receiving our PPR, I have become patient and know that it will be soon.

I got an ecas update saying they received our appl on November 23, 2010 and medical results have been received.

Good luck to all and congrats to the few who already have their PPR.

vt,
It is funny you should say that. I found the same thing. I was really obsessive when we first sent the application off and then up until last week other than one or two bad days I had accepted waiting.
Congrats on the Update I hope you hear Something Soon :)

Heyhey, could some one maybe tell me what exactly is meant by the abriviation PPR? :)

ive been only following the Outland Buffalo thread. We got our PPR on Jan 18, and I went and picked up my wifes Visa in person Just on Thursday. The timeline surprised us actually. Almost three months exactly to the day.

Wow this is fast! I hope October people get PPR SOON! So November will be next.

Just got an email from ND that the PPR has been mailed on 25th Jan 2011. still waiting for the actual letter to come.

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi.

Please note a request has been mailed on 25 Jan 2011 to submit passport within 30 days.

We trust that this information will be of assistance.

Congrats waitingforwife! Hope I can get PPR as you soon. :)
