Hi all,

Singapore is already busy working on the medical! This is before the application has processed in Canada and that is a good sign Singapore is fast. My wife has inactive TB - declared on the Medical (done in Bali) with proof of treatment.

They have asked for another x-ray and sputum test from my wife or an x-ray from 6 months ago. Luckily we have an x-ray taken last year in Qatar. I will see a DPM in Qatar and have it sent to Singapore. I almost sent it myself but that would have been a mistake.....follow the rules!

In addition, Qatar Immigration did extended examinations last year when we got my wife's permanent Qatar visa. I will get the Qatar DPM to explain the rigorous process employed by Qatar. We had provided the Qatar Medical card at the time of the exam but I do not thing the Indo DPM understood the meaning. Will try again.

If we are required to do additional medicals, it would add about another month, maybe 2 so not to bad. TB is serious and my wife has an x-ray every year to check. At the moment she is in Indonesia but will join me in Qatar next month.

And I did my medical yesterday, so the package can leave tomorrow! just polishing the last bits, before I throw the package on the Purolator truck to Mississauga.

Cheers
Hal.

Hi all,

I sent my inland PR/sponsorship application to Vegreville on Oct 1st and looking forward to see some progress :) so I checked the time frame for application processing and was quite surprised to find out about 8-9 months for first approval stage :o I thought it's suppose to take 8-9 months for the whole thing, not for the 1st stage only... or did I get it wrong?

Can you please share your knwoledge on that?

Appreciate it! And good luck to all!

Dear Latvian,

You are doing an inland application so for the Canadian government, it is no rush. It will be a long wait for you. My wife and I were in Canada in August and talked about staying and applying inland but it would mean she could not leave the country, go on holiday, visit her family. So decided to leave and apply outland.

Good luck

Welcome Latvian to the thread and yes unfortunately Inland is much longer than Outland, which is why most people apply outland, unless their local office has really long wait times, as you can also apply outland if you are in Canada.

I've added you to the list above.

@ Hall Glad you got your medicals done and hope you get every finalised so you can join our thread.

Might give the purolator dude a call now actrually!! just checking mail for one last letter, and if it is not there, I'll just say screw it anyways!!

Ahh and the future wife went and checked the mail, so out it goes!!
Wish us luck!!
Cheers
Hal.

I sent out my application on Saturday October 23rd and it was received today in Vegreville. We didn't do the medical form because my husband had one done a little while ago for his work permit for here. I included a copy of the work permit so I hope that will suffice.

And we can throw ThaHal on the list! the purolator man will be here before 430!!!

Now I'm just wondering about photocopying the whole package or not... it is a pile of paper fer sure...

I scanned my whole application and have it on PDF :)
I would feel guilty photocopying it, I wasted so much paper on the original application already..

lol I know...

I copied the first part, including letters, and left the utilities and emails alone, I have them saved anyways...

Now I see purolator does not drop of at PO boxes so might have to change that one...

Cheers
Hal.
